Hi all
I have been a member of Ebay and Paypal for many years and although a regular user I am more ofter a buyer.
I have recently sold a large item that was PICKUP ONLY and because I cant provide a tracking number my funds will be held PENDING for 21 days although my item has been collected.
Im not desperate at all for the money but disppointed that the funds can withheld for this amount of time.
Is this a normal occurrence and is there anyway I can get the funds released earlier.
Cheers
Liz

You should mark the item as sent and ask the buyer to leave feedback for it, once that is done phone Paypal and give them the details of the transaction (being clear it was a pick-up sale) and they should release your funds before the 21 day hold period.
The 21 days applies to all new sellers until they can show they are experienced and have had no problems with their transactions.

Best way to avoid this in future is to say clearly in the listing, Cash on pick up preferred.
You still need to offer PayPal and it cannot be refused if a buyer wants to use it but many buyers don't know they can pay cash when they pick it up. They think they need to pay because eBay send a reminder at 48 hours or if the seller sends an invoice which isn't necessary on a cash pick up item.
That's better for both buyer and seller.

You've been an eBay member for years, but as a buyer, rather than as a seller. As a seller, you're new, hence the standard Paypal 21-day hold on funds.
