Payments on hold.

Payments on hold. I have $300 waiting on hold and have been told that I need to sell 25 items in 90 days for my hold to be lifted. I complained about not being informed about this in advance and I was told they have had this program since 2011. Is this happening to everyone?

eBay sees you as a "new seller" because you haven't sold anything in over a year, and yes, all new sellers will have their payments on hold for 30 days unless they can show by feedback and/or tracking that the sale has been successful.

If you had read the terms and conditions for selling under the Managed Payments system you would have realised that.

You don't have to sell 25 items - no matter what the CS reps tell you.

Managed Payments started in Australia in July 2020. Are you signed up and verified for the new system?

Either way, until you are verified, your funds will be on hold indefinitely. Once you are verified, Ebay will give you an estimated payout date which you can check against the transaction in the Seller Hub. Usually they will pay out once tracking shows as delivered OR at least 30 days have passed. This will continue until you have established yourself and had no issues or disputes.

Everyone has had to sign up - there were many email sent out prior to all of this, plus there were banners on the selling pages. It was hard to miss the information.

You will need to provide a drivers licence or passport number and double check that any details you registered with on Ebay match the official documents exactly.

The good news is that fees are now taken up front so anything sent to your bank account (no more Paypal), is your gain.
