Paypal dispute, Returned item was used.

I will make this short. I have had a buyer return some items they bought (BIN) because they said it was NAD. Obviously there is no point in my disagreeing with her as PayPal will refund her . My problem is she has unpacked all three items (all the same product). She then washed  the toys in domestos before returning them. I dot understand why she done this as they were clean anyway. Now they have a strong chemical smell and have stains and cannot be resold . Where do I stand with PayPal?. The items returned were not as they were when I sent them to her. I just cant find where to dispute this on PayPal. Thank you in advance 🙂

Re: Paypal dispute, Returned item was used.

Best thing to do is to ring Paypal on Monday and advise them that the items have not been returned in the same condition they were sent.

Re: Paypal dispute, Returned item was used.

I had this happen to me.

The items had been unpacked and played with before being returned.

When I rang paypal and spoke with them about it I had to give in detail what had happened and while the buyer was refunded PP repaid me from their money.

If you still have photos of the item before it was sent take photos of them now to show why they are not in the condition they were sent and tell paypal you can send these photos as proof as well.

Really fight your case and if the 1st time no luck call back and ask to speak to a supervisor.

If they still do not help tell them you will take it too the financial ombudsmen. You could even call them first and see what they say so you can tell them at PP what the ombudsmen said you can do to get your money back and they might take you more seriously.

But do fight it as we are suppose to be protected for issues like this.

Re: Paypal dispute, Returned item was used.

To dispute it with Paypal on line just us the contact us link at the bottom of the page and quote the transaction number however it is usually more effective to ring Paypal.

If they agree to a discretionary payment make sure you take note of the name and employee number of the person who you are speaking to, last time this happened to me the payment didn't come through and when I called back they denied all knowledge of their promise until I quoted the date and time of the call and the name and number of the employee, the refund was in my Paypal account within 10 minutes!

Re: Paypal dispute, Returned item was used.

did the buyer say why they claim items were not as described?

did you ask the buyer, (if they were not as described), why did they put them in domestos?

I am just curious because that is a bit bizarre.

It doesn't seem strange they washed them as a lot of people clean things before they use them to get any factory grease or dirt off the product... I would guess that bleaching the product damaged them and they didn't want it then, or thought, the product shouldn't fade with bleach.

You would be surprised how far people will go to get cash back for their mistake.  About October last year I laid some carpet for a client.  I had done the measure and quantity.  The lady was home all day, and made us cups of coffee and gave us drinks.

In early February there were a lot of big storms in Canberra, all of a sudden we got a complaint the joins were not very good and they wanted an inspection, however they didn't want me to go back because I made her feel uncomfortable.

The person who went to look took photos, and the join they were complaining about was butchered and on an angle aswell as in a doorway.

What happened is  flooded the hall, they got I a cleaner to dry the carpet, but they did a very bad job putting the carpet back together. I guess the insurance company didn't pay up of refused the claim so they tried to accuse me of a bad job.

Fact is when things go wrong, some people think small businesses should act like large business and give refunds on any complaint.
