On May the Third I sent an identical replacement to my buyer (who paid via paypal), she received her item on the ninth of May, signed the proof of delivery from the courier, and emailed me to confirm the delivery and that she will leave positive feedback.
Paypal then stole the purchase amount from my paypal account yesterday and refunded buyer. The case was apparently still open (from not receiving her first parcel that was lost by Australia Post), it seems that Paypal either ignored or did not view the supporting proof of delivery and buyer's delivery confirmation email that I sent Paypal. I appealed however no replies from Paypal.
Is there anywhere or anyone I can contact to stop this Paypal crime? Has anyone had any similar experiences with a positive outcome they can help me with?
I did an online search titled "paypal stole my money" and was shocked to see how many times Paypal had stolen from accounts around the globe. Can Paypal (our favourite way to pay online) do so much harm or are the hundreds of thousands of complaints just fluff.
Anyway, I just filed an online police report to the federal police about Paypal stealing my money, however I would like to know if there is any more I can do. Has anyone tried the media (TV, papers, forums, youtube, facebook, social networking, etc and what have been the results)? I was thinking about doing a youtube file about this including all supporting documents for everyone to see, to create awareness for Paypal users. Any feedback on this?
As an outcome I would like to see Paypal reinstate my money and to do the right thing by the ebay community.

Did you think about actually picking up a phone & calling them AFTER you'd provided proof of delivery via either fax or the dispute ?

Please don't get carried away - it is not a crime.
Simply phone paypal and speak to them about this, they are more than helpful and it seriously sounds as though you have simply not corresponded correctly within the dispute and this has caused the case to close against you.
Ring them first thing tomorrow.

If you get no satisfaction from PayPal after you phone them, file a complaint with the Financial Ombudsman, then contact PayPal by email telling them you have taken this step and give them the Complaint number that you will receive - this should get reasonably quick action:-)

Completely missed the point again AS USUAL
Under no circumstances will paypal reverse a decision once they have refunded the buyer. This applies even when they agree they have made an error. They plainly state that they do not have the authority to do so. So calling paypal in the morning is some pretty lame advise. As you have said to me why bother replying at all when you cant get your facts right!

PayPal won't admit they have made a mistake but they do refund claiming it's a "one off payment" - has been done many times when they make mistakes:|

Yes paypal DO give you money back when they make an error.
It may not be from the person they refunded to but from their own money for such occasions. This is why sellers pay fees
I was refunded after paypal refunded a buyer in error and I have it in writing with their apology.
OP Contact the buyer and ask them to repay you again or as suggested call paypal tomorrow.

OK My appologies. If paypal have refunded people out of their own account then that is something I have never heard of and if this is correct I amman enough to appologise for my not knowing this and for giving erroneous advice. I am sure as a fact they will not reverse the decision and take the money back from the buyer once refunded but i never even considered that they would refund out of their own coffers.
Wonders will never cease. Again my appologies.

It's called a discretionary payment or courtesy refund.

Paypal will most certainly repay the money to you when they have made an error although as your buyer has obviously received the item have you actually asked them if they will make the payment again?
When you sent them the proof of posting did you send it by email or fax , did you make sure you put the transaction id and complaint details at the top of the email/fax?
Did you call Paypal and confirm that they had received your proof of posting and linked it to the dispute?
If you did all that then I can't see why Paypal would find against you but it can probably be sorted out by contacting the buyer, they probably haven't even noticed that they have received the refund.
