Paypal stole my money even with proof of delivery to buyer, what to do?

On May the Third I sent an identical replacement to my buyer (who paid via paypal), she received her item on the ninth of May, signed the proof of delivery from the courier, and emailed me to confirm the delivery and that she will leave positive feedback.

Paypal then stole the purchase amount from my paypal account yesterday and refunded buyer. The case was apparently still open (from not receiving her first parcel that was lost by Australia Post), it seems that Paypal either ignored or did not view the supporting proof of delivery and buyer's delivery confirmation email that I sent Paypal. I appealed however no replies from Paypal.

Is there anywhere or anyone I can contact to stop this Paypal crime? Has anyone had any similar experiences with a positive outcome they can help me with?

I did an online search titled "paypal stole my money" and was shocked to see how many times Paypal had stolen from accounts around the globe. Can Paypal (our favourite way to pay online) do so much harm or are the hundreds of thousands of complaints just fluff.

Anyway, I just filed an online police report to the federal police about Paypal stealing my money, however I would like to know if there is any more I can do. Has anyone tried the media (TV, papers, forums, youtube, facebook, social networking, etc and what have been the results)? I was thinking about doing a youtube file about this including all supporting documents for everyone to see, to create awareness for Paypal users. Any feedback on this?

As an outcome I would like to see Paypal reinstate my money and to do the right thing by the ebay community.

Re: Paypal stole my money even with proof of delivery to buyer, what to do?

I would have given a refund to a buyer who didnt get their item. Didnt need ebay to do it.

The trouble is, you have no way of knowing whether they got it or not. There is also no proof that they DIDNT receive it.

Oh well i will have to make a claim against the carrier. Hopefully they will refund me if they cant trace what happened to the package.

thank you for your replies.

Re: Paypal stole my money even with proof of delivery to buyer, what to do?

This is a direct cut & paste from www.paypal.co.uk regarding eligibility for Seller Protection, and is quite different from ours.

11.8 What is โ€œProof of Postageโ€?

Online or physical documentation from a postal company that includes all of the following:

  1. A status of โ€œshippedโ€ (or equivalent) and the date of postage
  2. The recipientโ€™s address, showing at least the city/county or postcode (or international equivalent).
  3. Official acceptance from the shipping company (for example, a postmark, a receipt, or online tracking information). Or, if you have Proof of Delivery then you do not need Proof of Postage.

11.9 What is โ€œProof of Deliveryโ€?

Online documentation from a postal company that includes all of the following:

  1. A status of โ€œdeliveredโ€ (or equivalent) and the date of delivery.
  2. The recipientโ€™s address, showing at least the city/county or postcode (or international equivalent).

Paypal have refunded me before in a similar situation out of their own wallet for an error, especially after I asked them for a link on how to close my account.
