Hi all, I just sold an item, and I have listed it as pick up only, and the person who has won lives interstate and I do not want to send this item.
At no stage has the person contacted me prior to ask this question.
Am I allowed to straight away do the "offer second chance" option.
I have sent the winning bidder a question as to why he placed the bid when it was a pick up only.
Should I wait for the reply, or just do the offer second chance straight away?
I am in Melbourne, Buyer is in SA

Oh wow. As entertaining as all this is, if I may return to the seller's situation I would say the following:
- The seller has specified twice within the listing that the item is pick up only.
- The buyer has bid on and won the item. They may have interpreted COD either of two ways, the first, they pay cash on picking up the item themselves or second, the item is delivered directly to them.
- Given pick up only has been specified twice within the listing AND AGAIN ON THE INVOICE I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the buyer would understand the only option is pick up and that the seller must have meant 'Cash on delivery' when selecting that option under payment details on the listing. - we are talking about a buyer with 1789 feedback by the way.
- The buyer as yet has not communicated at all, which would indicate that they are not trying to wrap their heads around the COD issue (if they were they would have asked seller for clarification) but that they are not communicating for other reasons. Either they are taking a long weekend holiday, or they are slack, or they don't want the item or any other strange and wonderful variations that buyers can experience.
- The seller should now lodge a dispute if they have attempted to communicate reasonably well (including phone call)

I actually mentioned this to my barrister today. She ROFLd. And wants moorna's legal friend to fight a case, any case, against her. "Money for jam", she said.

I have the same scenario, a buyer with 0 feedback has purchased my pickup only item (perfume, so I can't postage because of the restrictions on flammable materials) in Victoria when they live in Queensland. If they try getting me to post it, am I still able to cancel the transaction? I'm worried if they don't agree to the transaction eBay will let them leave me bad feedback. There was another bidder and I would like to offer it to them if possible, and I don't see why I should have to wait several days because someone was too dumb to read the listing.
I know that they may have a family member or something who can pick it up, but it would have been nice for them to let me know this before bidding, and my experience, buyers with 0 feedback are always trouble (either not paying or making idiotic demands).

The scenario MIGHT not have changed in the last NINE months, but I doubt many of the respondents will be back. Given that the relevant knowledge has been imparted, why do you feel a need to bump the thread?

I didn't bump. My attention span doesn't run that long.
