wow,  how do they justify the BX1 increase.  Thats a rip off,  oh thats right it's Ebay, they don't care about the people who make them their money

They are the increases imposed by AustPost, not eBay, so complain to your local MP (and good luck!)

Agreed; the Bx1 increase is going to hurt.

I do $5 postage on some items (with the remainder in the item price) and send them in Bx1, but that's going to have to change.

Postage for B1 boxes through AP went up a couple of years ago, so we have actually been insulated for a while.

They are now no cheaper (slightly more unless you buy hundreds) than 1kg satchels, so that's what I'll be using.

The BX1 price is disappointing, and will require some re-pricing for some of my heavier items. For me personally, it was the only eBay postage service worth buying - full price for one via My Post Business is currently $13.45 (exactly the same price as a 3kg satchel), with the lowest price at $11.43 if you qualify for the max. discount of 15%. That also means that even after the 35% increase, eBay's regular price will be at least 10% or so cheaper than the best discounted price buying directly from AP, Smiley Frustrated I have no idea what MPB prices will be on Monday, though.

I was planning to send some stuff via the B1 boxes but that's just being knocked on the head as those items

will go via FB and other avenues instead,(a $2.70 increase makes it unviable to use that method).stubborn_smiley_by_mirz123-d4bt0te_zps12f1a5a3.gif

Maybe time to bulk clear most of that stuff,Who knows.gif

Unfortunately I still have one box B1 box here,blush-1.gif

Honestly, what annoys me is that they haven't given us any notice. We've known AP prices were going up for a month, ebay gave us 4 days.

It did seem rather short notice!

At least eBay is always open unlike the post office which was closed today on Sat, just like yesterday on Fri (public holiday).  Very annoying.

WOW - Just checked out the new AP prices. Was that $12 I saw for an international large letter up to 250g ? Another 30% price increase. I send quite a few 250g letters OS so this is going to hurt. Some of AP,s new satchel prices are also getting too expensive to be viable for a lot of items. Just another reason to find something else other than internet selling to do with my time.

You have to wonder how much further AP can push up its prices before it kills the goose that lays the golden eggs. It also leaves the door wide open to allow a decent competitor to come in and cut its parcel lunch on all of the highly profitable city deliveries, leaving AP with the more remote postal runs that no-one else wants.

AP state in their release that " the price increases will allow it to continue providing its services into the future". Not really much point if they send all of the Australian internet sellers out of business in the process, leaving AP to deliver Chinese parcels for next to nothing. Seems pretty dumb to me..
