Posting multiple items

Hi everyone,

I have been selling items on ebay for a while now but only here and there.

Now i am selling a few items at a time and would lke to know how you all post your packages when you have a few.

Usually i would go to Auspost with a single package and post it but i feel a little weird going in with 3 things at a time and writing up all the details at Auspost.

I am assuming there is an easier way but I don't know what it is.

Thanks for your help!

Re: Posting multiple items

It depends on what you are selling.

Do your items fit into any of the eBay flat rate satchels or boxes? If they do that is often the cheapest way to post and you can prepare your parcels before you get to the PO. You buy the packaging in advance from Aus Post and print the label through eBay. The postage cost is added to your monthly invoice.

If your items don't fit into the flat rate satchels you can still use the eBay Postage labels and you receive a discount off the normal over the counter prices. You need to use your own packaging and enter the parcel weight and size dimensions to print the label. The postage cost is added to your monthly invoice.

Re: Posting multiple items

If you have already sold the items it is too late to talk about the ebay satchels, as your items will need to be posted promptly and even if you order now, you won't get the satchels until about Friday.

So for anything ready to send now, you could use your own packaging and the ebay postage labels, that way you can pack, pay and have them ready to drop off at the PO tomorrow.   Just work out the calculated postage first, in case it is too expensive to send that way.

Otherwise you could buy the 3kg satchels at the PO but it is more expensive.   You could let us know the weight so could give more information.

In the meantime, order some ebay satchels so you will be ready next time.   They are quite cheap I think $4.20 will get you 20 ebay satchels, which you can use with the ebay labels, saving you some $$$.    However this won't be any good if your items don't fit!!

Re: Posting multiple items

I use click and send, you can use your own packaging, but will be restricted to the weight and dimensions applicable.

greencat - are click and send prices higher (changes a few month ago) for casual/ low volume  sellers though, compared to ebay online postage labels?

Re: Posting multiple items

As other posters have said earlier in this thread - you can use eBay labels for goods with your own packaging.

Just select the Australia Post assessed post option, which is the last in the drop down list of post type I think.

You enter the size, weight etc to get the price.

Cheaper than click and send at the moment.
