I have turned into a Power Seller which seems to be a great disadvantage! I have lost my 30 free listings per month and now have to pay $1.50 per listing. I didn't ask for this to happen - was only trying to give good customer service etc.
I am not sure that I want to open a shop so do I need to change my name and start again?
Thanks for your help.

There is ONE advantage from being powerseller; buyers cannot leave you NEG or neutral for a week after sale.
You cannot opt out any more, so what you suggested is the only way, until this ID loses the status.

I don't think you can change it. You would need to creat a new ID and start again.
If you are selling a lot you better be careful about your taxable income.
Someone who know more about that should let you know.

Maybe you could have one ID for bears and other for yarn?

you didnt just 'turn' into a Pseller, you worked hard and attained that level as a professional seller
you were a new or occasional seller on eBay who took up the generous offer of free listings, given by eBay to encourage more full time sellers to the site.
you were successful... very successful, sold so much you qualified for their p/seller level... well done, you must be doing something right, you list AND sell... great!! eBay must be a good venue to sell on, as you have made great sales since the introduction of this special offer... well done you, and well done eBay.
now eBay are asking you to join the ranks of their regular sellers, of which we are millions, and pay fees, like the millions of regular sellers do, ok, understandable, you are using their service, you tried their free offer and found out it is certainly something you can do well, so now you have to pay.
you could look into opening a Store, from Sept. it will be $50 a mnth but listing fees and fvf are less for Buy it Now items (not auctions), than you will pay as just a regular seller

The 30 free listings are for newbies and occassional sellers, they are not meant ot be for people who have a high turnover.
Many of us who are PSs use a different id to take advantage of the free listings. I use my main selling id for new BIN items and another one for 30 free second hand auction listings.
It says in this book I am reading that by 2065 80% of women will be overweight.
See what a trendsetter I am?

I must be getting close to the $3000 mark, you used to be able to see your total on your dashboard until changes got made, now I can't see it anywhere.

Hi Flashback_deals, try going into your dashboard and in summary box, select Powerseller level. It should bring up requirements and your current performance, showing your dollar figure and number of transactions.

When you get the 30 free listings isn't the FVF more then?
