Problems restoring Turbo lister backup files

Please help.

I have just upgrade my computers operating system from XP to Windows 7. I did everything right (i hope) by backing up my system before i reinstalled the new system. In "my documents", i can see all the Turbolister back up files ( IMB & TBL files) but when i click onto the latest backup i performed, i get a message from windows "Windows cant open this file". If i then let Windows search for a program to open it, i get taken to anothe screen telling me that "Windows dosent recognise the File", then an option to search the Web.

Ofcourse, i am then pr vided with a tonne of search results with "so called" providers offering to open it. I am confused whic one to pick and worried about my computers security.

Does Ebay prvide the program to open these files???.

Seems silly having Turbo Lister Backed up if its so much trouble to restore backup.

Can anyone please help.

I can only suggest that the file structure is different between XP and 7 (one is FAT32 and the other NTFS, eg).

I have had to restore TL files on occasion, but that was the same computer and OS.

The program to open the files is TurboLister. A silly question probably, but are you attempting to restore from within TL, using the specific function? That is the way to do it, not through the file itself.

You need to make sure that the TL backup file is in the proper TL location, not just in your documents folder.
