Hi everyone, I only sell unwanted items around the house occasionally and reluctantly signed up for Ebay Managed Payments about a month ago after they emailed me that if I don't sign up, I might get restricted to sell.
Prior to signing up, I sold a set of used cookware and accessories and posted it to the buyer. The buyer claimed one of the accessory items arrived damaged and returned the whole set through Ebay's money back guarantee. I accepted the return and refunded the buyer 2 weeks ago after I received the items back. The refund itself finally went through to the buyer last Monday. Ebay then contacted me that day that they will reimburse me the final value fee but it's been a week and I still haven't got it.
This is my first return and refund issue I had to deal with since I joined Ebay in 2007. For those who are on Ebay Managed Payments and have had to refund a buyer, how long as it taken to receive your FVF?
Solved! Go to Solution.

@nautimonkee wrote:Yeah I sold the items 2 days before I signed up to MP. So I have no idea if that makes a difference. I did however just received my March Invoice, which I'm assuming relates to fees before signing up to MP. It's very confusing!
Invoice may show as fee credit next to the sale and as I said that may take upto 30 days to receive

Ok awesome, good to know. Thanks Instyle!

Yeah no fee credit on the invoice unfortunately. But I'll wait for another 3 weeks, cheers

Out of curiosity, has the length of time to credit fees changed for MP?

The system prior to managed payments was that the FVF would be credited back to your account at the time the refund was issued, which would have either put it in credit, or reduced the amount owing when you got your invoice.
Your invoice will have a full list of fees and credits in it, though, and should have a summary at the top, with every fee / credit listed by category underneath.
eg This is mine, and the credits here are for items refunded

Oh ok cool. I usually get an email and/or notification from my Paypal app when I get a payment in my Paypal account. Nothing as yet. The full refund amount including postage was taken out automatically by Paypal a week after I confirmed the refund, so yeah that could be a possibility. I'll keep an eye out

They would go into your credit balance and you can check them in the seller account if you receive any at any stage.
But if you owe any fees ebay will use your credit balance if you had any to pay the fees first before debiting your bank account meaning if say you received a fee credit for a sale but then you owed fees then the money would be taken from you from your credit if you understand what I'm saying phew not sure if I'm understanding myself haha.

Haha totally understand Instyle and makes perfect sense. I suppose the confusing part is the transition period between the old way and the new MP way
