yes, i have just relisted a few listings that contain multi variations.. and it looks like sold items from last time they were listed, are showing up as still available.?
Is this right,? Does someone know any thing about this I didn't know?
I would assume as the numbers or sizes available or whatever come off when sold, that when relisting it would not return to the original listing containing all the items, but the remainder?
does this make sense?
Could explain why people might be selling stock they do not have, not realising relisting reverts to original?

That sucks. I can't believe it does that! Do you think everyone knows that, or assumed like me that it would automatically relist in the state it finished in? why didn't I know this? How can people keep track of it when they have loads of the same thing!
its stupid... but glad I noticed. Will now have to go through all and see what I actually have... thanks

Yes I was also caught out this way lucky I had checked the listing prior to one of the sold items being resold again I thought it would calculate the number sold and how many were left!

Happened to me this week. I also didn't realise that when an item relisted, it relisted the original number. Explains why I was able to 'sell' the second of two items I had in a multi listing twice within the space of a few hours.

Thanks for this information....I got caught as well and earned a defect for it after having to refund a buyer...at the time I actually thought it was an ebay gitch so will have to go check on a few of mine now...

Hi,
Sorry for the late comments specially as I see you already have a solution and I could be quite wrong here - as I tend to learn best by trial and error
But I am pretty sure going back a while when you re-listed it did re-list at the remaining quantity, then a few months ago, I noticed that was not the case. I have since been using (and slowly getting to understand) the Inventory function in a very basic way and have found if I have listings saved in inventory, then when I relist, it does use the remaining quantity - not the original listed quantity.
Just to be sure, in case ebay has been fiddling again, I re-listed an item tonight to check and it did relist at the quantity showing when the lsiting ended, not the original quantity.
I know initially it took me quite a while to set up all my listings in the Inventory, but it's one of those exercises that once done, seems to make life much easier. Well so far so good anyway . . . . . hope this may be helpful

By 'Inventory' are you referring to the Selling Manager?

Mmmm, not meaning to be smart here (lol, far from it)., I guess so, it appears in the Selling Manager Box on the left
