Hi Birch,
No he doesn't have any claim on the item now.
If you still have it and are willing to sell, name a real good price that suits you - or if they had paid you and then not collected till now, advise then you will be charging an additional storage fee.
You can't please all the people all the time, so now I just please myself

You have got to be joking !!!!!! Are you for real ? ๐ i can only say, that firstly you didn't sell the item. He put a bid on it and then did a "no show" Did you contact him and try to work it out, or anything !!!! Non Paying Bidder Dispute ? Cancel the transaction ? ANYTHING !!!! I'm surprised if you didn't and even more agog, you still have the item ๐
He has NOT A LEG TO STAND ON, Re the item. I would think it very odd and even has a smell of online stalking about the whole matter. EEEEKKK 3 years, give me a break !!!!!

well, you have to give that buyer the Optimistic of the Year Award, eh?
Some people can go their whole lives and never really live for a single minute.

I'd tell him you don't know where it is now, after 3 years, you have forgotten all about the transaction, but if you do find it, there would be a storage fee of x amount per year.
Yep, I like that idea.
Make sure the storage fee amount is worth more than the item.
I an not even sure if the details would even still be in your ebay archives. Anyway, he can't give feedback.
To be honest, I am amazed at the cheek of the person. You might not even have been at the same address or even still trading on ebay. What does he think you are, a storage depot?
Oh and if he so much as hints at a refund, say no way, he is in arrears for storage fees.

o_O I could kinda understand, a little....maybe...if they'd called and just asked if you still had it, but to still be considering it 'their item' after 3 years of no contact / pick-up is weird (especially if they never paid for it).

Did they pay with Paypal?
If not, you're laughing as you know from experience.
Trusses? Roof or clothing? I would have thought it hard to forget selling roof trusses. Given their size they aren't likely to not be noticed and the lightglobe saying 'Oh, yeah, I sold them'.
