I have received a request from buyer in China for full refund of postage, items and duties. The buyer claims the items arrived broken and also cut his finger when unpacking. For my part the items were extremely well packed. The common thread in all my feedbacks is "item extremely well packed" as I send glass and ceramics everywhere. This is first claim ever made. The tracking shows that the item was delivered on the 8th of April. I left feedback at 7am on the 11th of April. Later that day I receive the refund request.
So what happens now?

Ask for a photo of the broken item including packaging as you need it to claim insurance.

Definitely insist they provide photos as proof that the item was broken upon arrival.
Upload all your reasoning in the case comments, as to why you think their claim is unlikely.
Don't give in and provide a refund if you don't think it is warranted.

Photos arrived and the items were indeed trashed. Metres of bubble wrap and foam chips with shredded paper plus heavy duty box all to no avail as somewhere in transit the package became part of a throwing competition I think. First and last time I ship there. I have the evidence for a legit claim but what a hassle. Lesson learnt!!
