Requesting more items to be listed on the first month opening up the store - basic store

Hi, I have reached the 100 item limit. I have 4 positive feedbacks and I have sold 3 more items. I want to request another 100 items the same month I opened - this month. I want to list them this weekend.

Now this is the thing I am confused about. I paid $20 a month for 200 listings, if I request another 100 will those listings be free as I would have a total of 200 listings which is advertised as free on Ebay for a store each month.

Thanks.

I know who's missing the point......and it's not us

You can only have 100 listings.   You can't list 200 next month.

If your 100 are GTC then that's your lot

Moving to the next store level will have you paying $50 for the same

100 listings

You can't buy them by paying insertion fees!

100 listings until you reach 50 fb

I gave you a link to listing limits.........read it please

How to find your limits

Account limits

Most sellers can see account limits in My eBay. The Monthly selling limits section (under All Selling or the Selling Manager Summary) shows your current selling activity relative to your monthly account limits.

If you try to list an item that would take you over your current limit, you'll see a red alert letting you know you won't be able to sell more items in the current month. You always have the option to request higher selling limits.

Sorry but you are the one missing the point.  If you have a limit of 100 items, that is it, 100 items and no more, not free, not paid, no more.  At the beginning of the month if you are using GTC, any items that didn't sell will still be listed, these are counted in the next month's 100.  You can only list a number equal to your sold items from the previous month because that will bring you back to your 100 and you cannot go over it.  Your limit cannot exceed 100 items no matter how many free listings you have.  Free listings can only be used up to the limit of your listing restriction.  You just have to wait till you build up sufficient feedback for eBay to agree to an increase in your listing limit.  You can't do anything else.

Cheers,

Penny

Careful Penny, some of those words have more than 2 syllables.

Ok, so I actually found the answer.

You need to wait 45 days minimum to request a limit increase. They review it monthly.

I paid my ebay bill, so this should make them happy for the moment  😃

Ummm!!!

At the moment I can see that you have 84 active listings.

Assuming that every one of those listings lists only a single item (ie no multiples or variations) then that will use up 84 of your 100 item monthly limit. Therefore you have potentially 16 available to list. But if you have 16 sold items this month then you actually have ZERO available. This means you cannot list anything else this month no matter what.

So although you may have a store allowance of 200 free listings you cannot use those 200 because you have already hit your listing limit of 100 items. The 200 is only free listings which if you could list them all then after you exceed 200 you have to start paying listing fees.

So whilst upping your store to the next level will increase your FREE allowance (to whatever it is??? more than 200) you will still be unable to make any use of them becasue your monthly limit is still 100.

There is simply no way ebay will allow you to exceed this 100 limit until you have satisfied them that you qualify for them to increase your limit. You can only request a limit increase once every 30 calendar days. Bottom line is there is NO WAY you can exceed your monthly selling limit of 100 in your case.

Also remember that GTC listings that have a qty=1 will automatically end when someone buys that 1 item and will then be on your sold list still counting against your monthly selling limit.. Unless you have the out-of-stock option turned on in which case it will stay active but will not be visible to buyers. GTC listings will auto relist each month as long as the qty = 1 or more (or zero if you have the out-of-stock option ON). When they auto relist they use up 1 of your 200 free allocations from your basic store. And they follow the selling limit rules as well. So if you have reached your monthly limit then it will not auto relist.

So like the rest of us on here you have no choice but to continue selling as best you can within the imposed limits, hoping that your buyers leave positive feedback. Once you reach a score of 50 or so then try calling ebay to see if they will approve an increase in your monthly selling limit. Its just a slow hard slog to begin with. But we all had to do it early on.

ER - there are 2 seperate things here.

1. You are a new account, therefore you have a limit of 100 lists per month in total until eBay decide to increase it based on a proven track record. It could take 3 months or more before your limit is increased or they may increase it next month.

2. You opened a store and that store gets 200 free BIN listings per month. However because your account is new, you are stuck with only 100 as a limit. That is why we often recommend to sell some first before opening a store.

Your limit is irrespective of whether you have free listings or not.

If eBay had a promo of 1000 listings next week, you can still only list to your limit total for the month.

You are on a probationary account, until you prove you can provide good honest service and pay your bills.

No point in going to another store level, as you will still be limited at 100.

By the sounds of it in your last post, you may have worked it out now anyway. Good luck.
