Hi
Grateful for thoughts.
I've sold a heavy antique on ebay weighing about 400kg to a buyer several hundred km's away.
For pick up he has arranged a man with a van which I don't think will budge it.
The item was listed as being very heavy.
Is it his responsibility to send enough person power for the job?
He's already complaining about the cost of the man with van.

Sorry, but my first impression is that this transaction is going to go south.
For such an expensive item, I would be looking for a local buyer paying cash on pickup.
Nothing to stop this buyer opening a case once he has your item.
Sorry if I come across negatively, but certain buyer behaviour has left me jaded.

You should only take cash on pick up items.
Yes it is the buyer's responsibility to arrange the manpower to collect the item.
If the buyer is complaining now there will be more issues to follow.
If the buyer has payed with PayPal (I suspect he has) I would cancel as problem with buyer's address & refund.

Thank you - no money has changed hands and he intends to do a DD.
I think his hearts in the right place and he seems ultra keen on the item but the lack of effort for pick up concerns me. Will report back!

Warning bells are ringing for me.
When is he doing the DD if he's not personally picking it up?
After he gets it home? Bye bye money and item I think.
