Quick credibility check. Auctionmike23, I specialise in the sale of Pokemon cards, close to ten thousand successful transactions over the course of a decade with 100% positive feedback, closing in on 2200 seller feedback score.
I sold a PSA 10 Shining Charizard Neo Destiny Holo for $9,000 on January 25 via eBay to a buyer in the United States (I am located in Australia). Card was delivered within a week. 60+ days after successful delivery of the item, buyer opens up a claim "Item does not match description". Quick question, if your $9,000 purchase did not match the description, how long would you wait to get in contact with the seller? This guy waited 60+ days. He had some story concocted about something that happened to the item AFTER successful delivery of the item. Yes that's right, his issue was something that occurred to the card once it was in his possession. He opened up a return request which I denied because eBay advised me to do so and they assured me "there was nothing else the buyer could do". The buyer then opened up a payment dispute with his bank, in turn freezing my eBay funds and my only means of supporting my family to the tune of $9,000 for 8 weeks. Today, the buyers payment institution has somehow sided with him! That the PSA 10 Shining Charizard does not match description, which is of course completely absurd. In eBay's infinite wisdom they have decided to deduct the remaining amount from my bank account. So as it currently stands, I am down my $9,000 PLUS my PSA 10 Shining Charizard Neo Destiny holo which by the way the buyer was never made to return. To make matters worse, the level of "customer service" that I have been provided by eBay throughout this entire process has been absolutely abysmal and shameful on their end. Make it make sense to me please.

Have you contacted your bank?

My suggestion is to also place your post on ebay.com.

Hi guys I really do appreciate all your help and insights I know we are all busy!
So in terms of what the buyer claims...with PSA graded collectable cards, they get a "certification" number so that you can search them up online and view their record of authenticity. 60+ days after successful delivery of the item, the buyer contacted me saying that the certification number was deactivated. I searched it up online and the certification was deactivated AFTER delivery of the card. I don't know what's happened to the card / certification number but my question is how am I the one responsible for something that happened to the card once it was in the buyers possession? It would be like buying a new car, crashing the car and then taking it back to the dealership 60 days later and having the dealership refund you because the car "doesn't match description". I can't believe the buyer wasn't even made to return the item first. If this isn't the most clear cut example of a scam then I don't know what is.
Also, I did contact my bank, they said if we were to challenge the chargeback it would result in me not being able to receive payments from eBay in the future. So here I am stuck, still trying to make sense of this.

Have you contacted PSA, from my limited research, certification deactivation could mean the item has been reported stolen or altered, or the certification number has been used to create multiple counterfeit items.
I presume the PSA deactivation would make the card virtually worthless
