I want to report a member on behalf of my friend who was been trying to buy an item but the seller seems to be a scammer by driving up the prices with fake accounts. Maybe we are wrong and maybe we are not but- it looks like a fishy and it smells like a fishy so it almost has to be fishy!
|
ITEM NUMBER 181 468 915 740 ( this is only one example- nearly every current listing has 2 bidders driving up prices on the sellers items and going through all the items in the feedback history the 2 bidders are constantly bidding)
They are using fake accounts to drive up the price and that is illegal!!!!! I think it is called shill bidding.
We have checked the sellers items sold, the number of bidders and all the feedback left and it DOES NOT MAKE SENSE!!!!
And the strange thing is these 2 bidders who have bid thousands of times on her items in 30 days cant be found in her feedback yet they are bidding large amounts but never seem to win or leave feedback. That is strange.
SELLER ID godblessmaria
We have gone through all the current listings and a lot of recent listings and it is the SAME BIDDERS ALWAYS DRIVING UP THE PRICES!!!
Currently 1 person bidding is b***0 (4) with 4 feedback.
In the last 30 days it says they have made 2282 bids on 451 items and 90% of the bid activity is with godblessmaria.
That DOES NOT MAKE SENSE that someone has made 2282 bids in ONE MONTH and only has a feedback of 4??????? They have made 2053 bids on godblessmaria listings and has only 4 feedback in one month?
ANOTHER bidder is g***i (48) with 48 feedback. In 30 days they have made 1493 bids on 426 items, 99% of them with godblessmaria. And only have a feedback of 48?????
This is shill bidding and is illegal and they are STEALING from other Ebay bidders by driving the prices up!!!
And they are not bidding small amount but large amounts!!!!!! Sometimes over $200
What we think they are doing is driving up the prices to MASSIVE amounts and then not completing the checkout- they are just paying the 10% fees and then giving second chance offers hence recovering the costs for the FVF transactions they never complete and STILL making sales with 'second chance offers'.
Is there anyway Ebay and Paypal can check that the sales made on Ebay through the possible fake bidders are actually getting completed through Paypal?
How is it that 2 people have made 3775 bids on ONE SELLER in ONE MONTH with a total feedback of only 52 between them???
THAT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why is this allowed to happen?
My friend wants to bid but it is plain to see that godblessmaria has people driving up prices with THOUSANDS of bids that never win!!!!!!!!
Please tell me what is going on! And please correct us if we are wrong
Thank you.

A report is a report. It is their own reporting system. How do you make
an incorrect report.
Yes, there were PLENTY of correct reports. I too wonder how an incorrect report can be sent. I know I'm not the only one who reported every listing with bids and also filed a report about her in general, that included a power of evidence to back the claims.
Can we assume that Tazz was the only one that sent the 'correct report' and is now trying to take full credit for all the hard yards that quite a few members of this forum put in?

It is not very fair to accuse Tazz of taking all the credit for having the offenders removed.
He has been very active for many years in reporting suspect sellers/listings and has built up a raport with ebay over that time. And he is not the only one...there were several very active and very knowledgable posters in the Hijack Hunters thread who could often find sellers/listings to report that no-one else recognised.
I have often seen a situation like this where blind Freddy can see the problem and many members report that problem.
But ebay take no notice until someone like Tazz or one of the other Hijack Hunters gets involved. At least he is still taking the time to report even though ebay gave him a real slap in the face by removing the Hijack Hunters thread.....believe me the shonks have taken full advantage of that and are back in force....think Rainbow Roses here.

They don't take a lot of notice of what goes on the boards.

By correct reports I mean through the listings as was done by a number of members.
Incorrect reports are ones that state the wrong reason for the reports,(which happens numerous times as
their report system isn't the best at times and hard to work out for some).
It was a lot better when they had the brief description box as you could explain why you thought the
listing was suspect.

That's probably what allowed them to take that action as that shows them exactly what's been going on.
They normally only sanction the sellers by allowing BIN items only, and this is the first time that I've seen an
account NARU'd so quickly for shill bidding

I would never do that as I'm not into "point" scoring,(I just don't like scammers or shill bidders that rip other
members off).
I only reported the listings
I'm always happy when others take reporting seriously and that in turn sees members like those punished.
As stated I've been doing this for years but you obviously don't want my assistance so I'll leave the shill bidders
to you,(I'll go back to concentrating on the scammers).
Good luck with it.
Thanks Lyndal,

Oh, no, no, no, keep reporting away! Sounds like you do a marvelous job! I think in situations like this, we need as many people as possible to report these scammers. You are right though about some of their listing reporting terms, sometimes it's hard to find the one you are looking for and sometimes what you think you are looking for isn't there!
I was probably a bit out of line with my last comment and I apologise for that. We all need to stick together to try and keep this place clean.

Well looky what we have here!!! 191275684427. Seems someone has dredged up another account that hasn't been used for awhile...... All currently BIN's, but will be interesting to see how long it is until the auctions start.
Shouldn't eBay have shut down all accounts relating to her? Or do they only shut down the reported ones?

Given that she's only got BIN's at the moment, what would we report her for? As most of us know, some of the selections on the reporting page can be a tad confusing!!
She's updated all her links on her facebook page. It was the facebook link in her ad that made me take notice....and the low feedback score.
It's almost tempting to get a heap of us to buy some of her cheaper items with free postage, then open up an INR, followed up a few days later with an INAD when the item mysteriously suddenly turns up, then hit her with a neg and a 1 star DSR. Given she only has 4 feedback, it wouldn't take much to trash her ratings. That would be naughty though, wouldn't it? 😄

chooks IMO ring eBay directly and make the report - ask to speak to a supervisor as the regular reps are hopeless with stuff like this.
I would, but have not kept up with all the sellers IDs etc you have compiled an impressive dossier.
It requires a more direct report as the current options don't allow for detailed links to other ids etc.

This account was opened in 2013 and her last feedback was November. Check out all the feedback left for others. Tell me that wasn't purely a feedback building exercise! Out of 53, only 3 are for someone else. One being a 4 feedback NARU. I wonder if that was her 4 feedback shill bidder.......
