Scam seller?

Hi, if I suspect a seller making false claims on their listings do you think I should contact ebay.
I believe some buyers are paying too much for plated jewellery, and is it alright for me to give you a item no for you to look at so
You can see this sellers completed listings, or is it against policy,
Thanks.

This seller has claimed their rings have a written valuation of $4,600 on a red ring but it is plated.
Has had 3 of the same ring and 2 sets of the same necklace and earrings given to her from her husband as a wedding gift.
I really think a lot of people buying these items are getting scammed.
Should I contact ebay about this seller or just let it go.thanks.

Re: Scam seller?

eBay won't normally do anything unless a buyer complains, not a member who hasn't bought.

You could try posting the item TITLE in the Hijack Hunters thread in 'Buying'. The people there are experienced scammer hunters and eBay seem to pay attention to them.

Re: Scam seller?

You can post a full listing title but you are not allowed to post item numbers.

To report fraudulent listings you can use the report link on the item page,(above the item number).

Then use the drop down boxes: Listing practices > Fraudulent listing practices > You suspect that a listing is fraudulent, >Continue > Send report.

Re: Scam seller?

But there are bids on the ring and 1 sold for over $1600.
Even though the buyers of these completed listings have bid and won I hate to see the seller getting away with it.

Thanks,good.gif

Newbies wouldn't list these on 3 day listings as they would be looking for maximum exposure.

Scammers tend to list with three day listings to avoid detection.

For that reason as well I've let eBay check them out,ok.gif
