Second Ebay store

I have an old account which hasn't been used for several years and which I'm looking to reactivate it in order to sell a different range of products.

If I remember correctly, if you can show you have a current active store, you can ask Ebay to unlock the 21 day hold which comes with a new store or for sellers who haven't sold in a while?

If this is the case, do the 2 stores become linked in some way?

If things go south in the second store, I would hate to have this store (Jellybird) affected.

I have about 200 things I'm looking to list in the second store, so just trying to work out the best way to get up and running and not have the payment-on-hold hassles.

On the other hand, maybe it's better not to get them linked up and just build up the second one again slowly.

Any advice of which is the best/safest route to go?

Re: Second Ebay store

No, the two accounts aren't linked.

It's more about the fact that you can show you have a good standing account and can be trusted to pay your fees, not scam etc.

If you were to be suspended for soem reason then all of your accounts are suspended and that happens now irrespective of whether you start this account up again and have the 21 day hold lifted, and other restrictions.

So by all means get the holds lifted, also means more free listings.

Re: Second Ebay store

What Kopes said is all good...
One o servation from us and we have two stores running and have done so for quite a few years...

After about 2015 we started to notice that only one store at any one time would get sales. So when one is up the other is down and vice versa. Never both up in sales together, but very often both down together.

So there is clearly some kind of search manipulation going on to make sure this happens. I've asked them about it and of course you guessed it no nothing like that would be going on.

Re: Second Ebay store

clarry, did you have similar type items listed on both stores ?

In other words could they have been competing against each other ?

Re: Second Ebay store

They are the same category yes, but different variations, and varying quantities to serve the purpose of a different buyer requirement.
