I thought it was just me having issues, from about 8.30pm, but it turns out someone else was too. I was trying to list stuff and kept having major problems. Then just before midnight, I couldn't get past the "this web page is not available" message....it was completely dead.
Phone app was no help. I could see my watch list and current listings, but couldn't revise or add a new listing, the app kept throwing me out and logging me out.
I thought maybe I had contracted a virus, despite not going to any sites that I don't normally go to. So, I ran every malware scanner under the sun, did a hard disk and registry clean, rebooted, installed all the new windoze updates, rebooted the router, tried several different browsers, tried DH's computer, and nothing.
Than about half hour ago I got a message from another forum member asking if I was having issues because they couldn't log on.
So glad it wasn't just me because I was all set to reformat my computer tomorrow!!
Did everyone else have issues, or was it a sporadic thing?

I had intended buying an iphone on the night for my wife but could not bid because the site was down and then unable to do so the next morning because of work. I missed out on a saving of $50 because of eBay and I believe that they should have extended the offer another 12 hours (at least) to accomodate those affected. What a great way to celebrate your 15th birthday by treating your customers with utter contempt. 😞
Ebay have extended the sale until midnight Tuesday
So your wife can still have that phone

It would have been nice if they extended the 150 free listings too because a lot of people got burnt there too. I was in the middle of trying to list (some successful, some not) and couldn't finish listing everything I wanted to list. I only had about 6 more items, but 15-20mins to list one item (by using 2 browsers) meant I ran out of time. Others missed quite a few more.

Yep, seems like major frustration the world over as so many of us tried and failed to complete listings before the 150 free listings offer ended. I hope ebay will do the right thing by its sellers and repeat the 150 free listings offer. It is the very least they could do! Over to you ebay...........

How do we take up the promo extension offer?

I could sign into this account today, but I could not sign in to the discussion boards. Around lunch time I phoned CS and they reset my a/c & told me to wait 1/2hr and try again. That didn't work.
I phoned them again just now and I had to change my password (while they waited on the phone to see if problem was fixed) and that worked.
I could sign in to the discussion boards with another ID.

Based on our investigation so far, we believe it may have been the result of unexpected power issues with storage arrays linked to some of our databases. These issues caused a limited number of databases to go offline, interrupting site functionality for some users. As of 10:45am PT (3:45am AEST) today, the vast majority of site functionality had been restored. We are working through any remaining issues now to ensure we are back at 100% for all users.

I had to change my password again a few hours later after I changed it with CS as I couldn't sign in to the discussion boards again.
I will post the following for anyone else who can still read the boards but can't sign in.
To contact CS about this:
Go to Customer Support - in search box put "Technical issues"
Click on " I want to report an eBay technical issue or site bug"
Which takes you to " Technical Issues" At the end of the page it says "was this information helpful? Yes No. I chose No - other - send.
At the end of the next page it then says this in green font.
"Thanks for your feedback! For customer support, click the Contact eBay tab above." Click on "Contact eBay" in that (in blue font).
Then click on "Call us" . It also gives you a one time passcode, to use for faster service.
