Seller selling same product with same description, photo layout basically impersonating my store.

Hi.

I have been selling my personalised products for a few years on EBay. Pretty well known to many with alot of returning customers. I have had many people asking me where I purchase my items etc which I do not disclose as I have come up with my own ideas myself to make them unique.

Now I have a seller who has just started doing the same products , basically the same description, same photo layout, I thne placed a special she has now added the same special using same ideas. There are 100' & 100'2 of fonts to chose from and she is also using my standard font exactly the same with  undercutiing me.

Is there anything I can do? I know we will get someone sellign the same products but doing everything the same is another story.

I haev worked hard to get where I am.

Unless the seller is using copyrighted material (either protected designs, images or descriptions - including an obvious paraphrasing of your own description), there's probably not a great deal that can be done about it.

Personally, I would recommend implementing some form of branding, possibly even registering the name and trademarking a logo. I think those are really good to have for products like yours, particularly once the products are well established. No one can copy things like that without risking some potentially serious consequences, and your items will be even more uniquely identifiable.

Agree with DG its worth giving serious consideration to ramping up your effort in branding.

Is it the seller name starting with H ? If so you have nothing to worry about. Also I cannot see how the description on the listing is copied from yours. Yes it's similar but if it was exactly the same you could report it. It's nowhere near exactly the same. That's if we're talking about that seller? But don't stress, I don't think they are much of a threat to you. For one thing you have a much bigger range of products and are very well established. They don't look terribly good at the moment especially with only 97.5% for their feedback.

There is nothing you can do to stop people copying your ideas. I always say that as soon as you put it out there you are just waiting to be copied. Don't stress, there is so much more to successful selling on ebay than just having a good product. That is merely the beginning. I've seen so many people come and go over the years who don't have what it takes to sell on ebay. Just grit your teeth and keep doing what you're doing. Don't let another seller influence your business decisions.
