Sellers listings require feedback or blocked

Thoughts please on Sellers listing practises as stated on all listings
Any buyer who does not complete transaction with feedback or leaves neg will be blocked from future auctions.
Is this against eBay policy ??

A neg has already been left.

OP whilst the feedback within limited timeframe may not have been on the listing you purchased from the following was included in their T&C on your listing purchase, and I stand by my observation regarding customer service & communication as not being an obvious priority of the seller,  and that being blocked should not be a surprise as per point 10 in your purchase's listing..

I understand that you are annoyed with the seller - but it is you that keep such sellers in business by buying from them, despite very clear signs upfront that they may not be the most relaxed and easy to get along with seller on eBay Smiley Frustrated

Excerpt from T&C copied below as it appeared - red font, underline & caps in all their glory Smiley Surprised

6.Please ASK ALL QUESTIONS Prior to making ANY BIDS.
7.Please do not bid if you are unable to provide photo identification to the booking company and hotel upon request.
8.Please read notes & descriptions carefully and avoid raising irrelevant questions.
9.Please do not re-raise questions already answered and listed.

10.Failure to comply with points 6, 7, 8 & 9 may lead  to getting blocked from all future XXseller nameXXX ebay offers.

This is the only thing I can find that specifically references the sale of vouchers (there might be something else, but even though other sites have more specific policies surrounding things like vouchers and gift cards, I couldn't seem to get any results on the Oz help pages, and this is under "Manufacturer's Coupons", which I acknowledge is a slightly different thing to a voucher for accomodation, but also similar in that the voucher needs to be redeemed in order to access a product):

All vouchers sold through eBay must be physical vouchers printed on paper, not vouchers that can be sent electronically to the buyer to be printed.

The listing is for a voucher to access accomodation, which is not the same thing as a listing for accomodation, so while it is obviously iffy, the rules for vouchers / digitally delivered goods should be the ones that are applied. If, on the other hand, all they were listing was accomodation, and seller's listing advises that confirmation details will be sent via email, it'd be the same thing (on offer), but not the same thing as selling a voucher. IMHO, anyway.

In regards to the note about feedback, the actual policy is:

"Sellers are not permitted to include in their listings or terms of sale any conditions that limit or restrict the buyer from leaving feedback."

Like most eBay policies, it's likely different people will interpret that in different ways, for example "leave a neg and I will block you from future purchases" could be seen as attempting to limit the buyer in their choices by threatening consequences if they make one the seller doesn't like, but at the same time it doesn't actually try to dictate specific FB terms (in that the buyer is told what kind of feedback to leave). eBay provides an example of a seller stating that buyers who leave negs will be fined $500 as "not allowed", so if you think being blocked from future purchases meets the same kind of criteria under that policy as threatening to fine money, then I guess it's also not allowed.

Seller is in fantasy land.

Regardless of their T&Cs (which we all know most buyers don't read, especially if they're using a phone),  they deserve REALISTIC feedback from buyers.

It might be legal, but it ain't moral, and I think OP was well within their rights to leave a neg.

DG there is a link to travel services ebay policy posted earlier in the thread and there are several additional and different conditions in relation to selling travel and accomodation on eBay.

The blocking you if you leave negative feedback seems to me to be shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted.

If you leave negative feedback, you are not likely to be buying from them again anyway.

Are you?

Agree 100%.

Don't understand the sellers motivation.  Also don't understand why any buyer would buy from a seller with those T&C's listed above (and then act shocked at their treatment by the seller).

Yes, I read that. But the listing isn't for accommodation, it's for a voucher. What the voucher entitles the bearer to (in my mind) should be irrelevant, because the item for sale is a voucher only.

Same as when someone lists a gift card to a specific store. It has a set value, and allows the customer to access goods at the store to that value, but you could only ever say that it was a gift card for sale.

I asked a question after auction ended relating to married name and photo id that was addressed but point 10 led me to believe block was because of that then to be informed that it was because I had not left feedback and now because I had left my opinion of this transaction as a neg I was blocked again can you block someone twice !!!!! .

I am not responsible for keeping this kind of seller in business here as I bought in good faith I find that comment quite offensive .

The travel policy indicates that vouchers for travel services can be sold.

Travel services and how they are required to be sold should not IMO be compared gift cards. There are very specific listing and sale requirements to list travel on eBay.

There is nothing in the travel policy or tickets policy for that matter that requires a voucher is hard copy.
