I have a query regarding the new fees that are going to be imposed. I purchased something recently from someone and asked them if I could pick up as they were not far away and they were happy to sell with me picking up the item. I have noticed that their listings have changed now, prices gone up and free postage. I list my items and offer pick up on small items that I could post but sometimes this makes the difference between a sale and not a sale. Is Ebay going to give us the option of putting a price for pick up and a price for the item with feee postage? With the costs imposed by Australia Post and some people live locally to pick up this would be a good option. I dont like the new format.

If you offer 'free' postage then you will (and always have) pay fees on the postage component.
If you offer free pickup on a flat rate or calculated postage cost which is shown separately in your listing, then I have no idea as to whether the seller will be charged on the nonexistant postage component. We are all waiting for clarification on that point. But your seller who has shifted to 'free' post only has made a presumptive decision (led no doubt by eBay's insistence that 'best' match has any meaning) to pay the extra whether or not they post. And presumably won't be offering discounts for pickup. Or combined on multiple items, as that cannot be done when using 'free' post.
