Hi,
I have a some items that i am wanting to sell from China. I am based in Australia. I am having some difficulties finalising my listing due to this error with domestic postage:
"We're unable to calculate your postage cost based on your current item location. Please enter a valid item location which includes the City, postcode and Country. If your item location is not within the US, please select flat rate postage."
Has any an idea about what to do here. The item location is in Shanghai, China.
Many thanks

Hi, sounds like you're listing on eBay.com
Australian eBay is eBay.com.au

Hi,
i initially tried listing it through ebay.com and had the same problem and then have tried on ebay.com.au and same problem again.
The error message is very unclear.

if you want to post the items from China to Australia then you need to use international postage, not domestic.
Domestic postage would be if you wanted to post the item within China

hi, if international post isnt showing in the post methods drop down menu you need to click on the link add more optionson the line where post is. then select to add international post.
then the drop down menu will show you three options to choose from.
also the item location needs to be shanghai china to match the postage. i had this problem a few weeks ago & ended up leaving it as local just to list the items until i worked it out.
sending using international is pretty easy now i know but selling to international is a whole bees nest! you have to include parcel dimensions which we dont know etc
ive emailed ebay that is unnecessary information as only the post charge we specify needs to be there nothing else re parcel size. ebay calculators dont work.
ive come across items 3 times the post the seller is actually going to charge theyve told me after ive mentioned what ebay has for post. a painted pony came up as $35 post form melbourne to perth when in actual fact it was $18.
try that & let me know .. or ask chat they can usually tell you.
cheers

The parcel size has to be entered because there are limits to the size of parcels that can be sent using AP.
