Setting quantity number in listing

I've just started back selling after a few years' absence. My question is whether or not I'm setting the "quantity " correctly. If I list a set of 2 bowls for $40, do I set the quantity as 1 or 2? I thought it was 1, but a potential buyer just messaged me and said s/he was trying to buy a set of 4 but the price was showing as each, not for all 4. I have several listings of sets for a single price and want to be sure I'm setting the quantity correctly. Thank you for your help!

If you are listing the two bowls for $40 - that means $40 buys you two bowls - the quantity is 1.

I had no idea I was on the Australia board - greetings from the US! And thank you for your responses! I was doing it correctly - I think my potential buyer got it wrong.
