So much for free listings

So, I have only used a couple of listings, and, according to my 'promotional offers' I supposedly still have 2 lots of 39 freebies left

Except today when I go to list things it says there is the $1.65 fee

This is both with items I am trying to re-list and with brand new listings

I've done the usual 'fixes' but nothing changes

Has anyone else had this?

Re: So much for free listings

1. Talk to eBay about the fees - they normally give a number of free listing insertions per month.
2. FB & GT each have their own selling pitfalls - good luck with that!
3. eBay exists to make a profit, not to "help" anyone.
4. Making a profit on eBay - just like making money in any other pursuit - takes at least a little bit of skill and isn't guaranteed. Generally, the lower the barrier to selling, the more competitive the marketplace, so you need to fine tune your offering if you want to be successful.
5. Swearing at eBay on the community forums where eBay themselves don't even read is about as far from fine-tuning as one can get.

@hrngirls

if you bought your keyboard on eBay I think you should open a case as it seems to be missing the full stop key judging by your post I mean how are we meant to know where a sentence ends and a new one begins it is doing my head in and I think you can win such a case but I do understand your issue with fees on listings I don't like them because they are a pain in the are so you selling much on Facebook to make it worth your while I am on that topic I don't have Facebook seems to be for younger people either like it or they don't see the point myself I prefer eBay don't care what the little guy says

Don't you agree (damned, my keyboard is also missing the full stop and question mark keys)

Oooohhhhhhh, I so looooooove one long sentence posts it seems you've found your kindred spirit K like I mean how awesome is it not to have to use any punctuation I think we should do away with capital letters too that would make life even more fun

Edit oh drats a pesky comma seems to have found its way in there shame on me

Second edit. Oh look, a thread started by enigmabear...........I soooooooooooo miss her ๐Ÿ˜„ ๐Ÿ˜„ ๐Ÿ˜„ ๐Ÿ˜„ I do wish she'd come back. Waddaya reckon SP?

Don't joke about that. There was a member that came in here a few years ago wanting help of some description. Their posts had no punctuation, and NO spaces. It wasn't just one big long sentence, it was just one big long word. I had never seen anything like it. I still have no idea how or why.

Re: So much for free listings

You get what you pay for on Gumtree.

Rubbish Sellers + Rubbish Items + Rubbish buyers. A 'For Sale' sign will bring you better results.
