Not selling all that much recently, but OMG, the number of non-payers is ridiculous. At least one or two a week. Now when you only sell a few items each week it’s beyond a joke.
as a seller, if you do the wrong thing (and even when you do the right thing) you get punished, but dead beat non payers get away with it.
what peevs me even more is, I send a polite email asking if they wish to cancel the transaction, there’s no issue but could they let me know out of courtesy. But of course not. Plain rude! Might start just listing BINs with immediate payment.

Your genuine complaint is what ? That the buyer for your laptop yesterday hasn't paid yet ? You don't even know yet if they are not going to pay within the 4 days that eBay allows for payment, but if you have emailed them with the kind of expressions you're using here then I doubt if they will pay - as they would be seeing you as a very awkward seller to deal with.

You were offered assistance.
You responded with illogic and a determination to play the victim. (Or at least, that is what I perceive - I can only judge on how you portray yourself.)
We'll never hear what actually went wrong in your transaction, and what can be done to ensure that you don't have non-paying buyers again, because apparently that is not as satisfying as the taste of self-destruction.
Apparently, you believe that if a person doesn't immediately say, "Yes, bleep bleep the bleep it bleepingly happened to me when I bleeped the bleep in my last bleeping bleep to bleeped bleeps. Bleep eBleep", they must be - in your words - quasi staff from eBay. It isn't the case. If you were encountering anyone on eBay's payroll in these forums (a rare sight indeed), the username would be something like:
henchman-thug@ebay.com or henchman-thug_oz
(As you can see, the username is in bolded blue, and is accompanied by a little image which has an image title "eBay employee" - visible when you hover over the image. I am using this for illustrative purposes only; I am very definitely NOT an eBay employee and do not represent myself as such. I know of no ebay member whose username is henchman-thug, and am using that for illustrative purposes only. Furthermore, to the best of my knowledge there is no eBay employee with that username.)
The eBay employee's entire post would have a blue border. It would also STATE "eBay Employee" just under the View Listings link beneath the username.

There are many eBay members who read these boards but never post - and some of these will report offensive or policy-breaching posts far more regularly than the posting members of these boards.
For the record, there are many sellers on these boards who are fed up with aspects of eBay, have been treated incorrectly by eBay, and have had non-paying bidders. Thankfully, most sellers who read these boards have learned how best to manage this and how to prevent it from happening.

After one day some buyer with an indian sounding name with a feedback of 2 buys my item says they will pay then no contact at all. Now I can't lodge a non-paying bidder request until Monday. I see eBay treats their Sellers like Uber Drivers or Amazon slaves - like dog **bleep**. Now I know why I left eBay in the first place. I got suckered back with discounts buying stuff on eBay I didn't really need. I hear ppl are using Facebook now but I detest that comapny so I'll just keep the stuff I have or sell it locally perhaps on gumtree lolol (another eBay company..) I feel your pain - There has to be a better way to make some extra money. Good luck, F the assholses they are loosers and will always be loosers.
Non paying bidders are a pain. You will have to wait a few days before you can lodge the non paying bidder claim, but at least that way you'll get your fees back.
Yes, ebay has changed. I saw somewhere you mentioned being a seller in-was in 2003? I was selling back then (as well as being a buyer) and those were the days of seller power, for sure. Sellers could collect the money then post at lesiure or not at all. Most were fairly honest but S-L-O-W to post.
Today it has turned around quite a lot and it is buyer power.
I don't know that ebay treats sellers like slaves, but for sure, it does give buyers the benefit of the doubt quite often.
I personally would be very careful about selling on ebay these days. I think it depends a lot on what you have to sell.
From what I have read on the forums, computers & computer parts, especially second hand stuff, is really risky business. A non paying bidder is the least of your worries. You're just as likely to get someone who buys it then complains it isn't working as described and guess what, they will most likely get a full refund and you'll have to pay return postage plus be out of pocket the fees.
Most unsettling.
But mainly I came on to say-even if you abandon ebay for selling, on the upside, it is now a much improved place for buying. It's great. There's an estimated arrival date these days, the sellers are kept to it, you get your stuff quickly. If it isn't right or doesn'[t come, money back.
Keep your paypal account, worth it's weight in gold. You can use it a lot of other places as well as ebay.

So eBay sucks for sellers but hey it's great for buyers. - just sell rag dolls and knitted toilet roll covers and you'll be fine. We at eBay just cut Sellers arms off but hey you can get a real bargain from a beaten down humilitated Seller here. Unbelievable. I feel sorry for you and anyone still on this platform. Jeff Bezos the Jew makes his delivery drivers urinate in bottles in the back of their vans in an attempt to meet an impossible quota - I see eBay is using similar or worse tactics. You know at the begining of the industrial revolution, families (including children) did piece work like making matches and were paid just enough to pay the rent to their Jewish slum lord and a bit of bread - then the bubonic plague happened after ppl had become so beaten down. Uber doesnt make a profit but it drives it's drives to death and their cars. Goverments after years of charging millions for taxi licences and heavily regulating the industry lets Uber in to drive all cab drivers to the wall. Welcome to the globalist communist slave state the cyber gulag and people like you just accept it and tell people like me it's not so bad. It's really sad. I ecourage anyone reading this to chuck eBay in - it's just disgusting ABUSE that's what it is. People talk about the "me too movement" all the time yet there is far greater abuse going on globally. Multinationals don't want MEN who can think and say "enough of this bull**bleep**, me and my family are not standing for this garbage " they want docile cattle who put up with ubelievable humilitation and abuse. Still not ONE GENUINE person saying yeah eBay are a bunch of **bleep**s. How much worse things are now since I last was a seller ! Just SAD - dump this ghetto.

Astroturfing is the practice of masking the sponsors of a message or organization (e.g., political, advertising, religious or public relations) to make it appear as though it originates from and is supported by grassroots participants. It is a practice intended to give the statements or organizations credibility by withholding information about the source's financial connection. The term astroturfing is derived from AstroTurf, a brand of synthetic carpeting designed to resemble natural grass, as a play on the word "grassroots". The implication behind the use of the term is that instead of a "true" or "natural" grassroots effort behind the activity in question, there is a "fake" or "artificial" appearance of support.

I think a lot of the changes to ebay had to come, if it wanted to hold any credibility. Buyers need to be reasonably sure they will get the items they pay for. They need to have some idea of when those items are likely to arrive.
No one is forcing you or anyone else to sell on ebay. Most of those selling on here do so because they know the terms & conditions, have arranged things so that it works for them and they make a profit. Most of them are on ebay, I would guess, as it is easier or more profitable than some other selling platforms. A lot of them seem to have found lines of items that sell and they have their blocks and what have you in place so they don't have too many problems.
It doesn't matter if you sell on ebay, another online site or in a store, there are always going to be the occasional glitches in life, you just deal with them and move on.
I think a great deal depends on what items you try to sell on ebay. You're having a bad run but that isn't how it is for quite a few other sellers, they are finding it worth their while.
I don't know what you call a GENUINE person. Is it just someone who agrees with all your views?
My own view is that selling (and buying) on ebay has its good and bad points but those who stick around are doing so because they are getting more good than bad out of it. I don't feel as if I am exploiting anyone when I buy on ebay. I hope not. I usually buy from aussie sellers so I was hoping they would welcome my custom & it could be a good transaction for us both.

So you tell me you sold 5k but your profile says otherwise doenst it. Still not one person sympathising with the utter garbage sellers put up with here. I can see anyone with a genuine complaint like mine is just set upon by quasi staff from eBay - How do I know because I read other peoples complaints about non paying buyers who were imediatly rebuked and put in their place by some other 'member'. Then I see the people who complained simply went inactive around the same time. So it's clear some ppl wake up to what the hell is going on here and they are promptly hosed down with mud and made to be a racist **bleep** or something when it is I and sellers like me who are the actaul victims here !
Showing your ignorance water111nog, eBay members can have multiple accounts. And davewill has at least 3 I know of.
Your posts show intelligence but a profound lack of eBay site knowledge.
Only a victim if you want to be.

One simple question for you and that is why didn't you request immediate payment in your listing?
And let me tell you if any seller on ebay has been shafted it was me lol.
You're complaining about a buyer that hasn't paid after only 1 day when a buyer gets 4 days to pay.
How would you react if you sold over $6K and ebay allowed the buyers to keep the items and also refunded the buyers?
Welcome to my nightmare! It took over 3 years to resolve and I don't wish upon it happening to anyone.
And you will find out the hard way when you start to abuse on these boards let me tell ya.

Excuse me I am NOT abusing anyone - I am the one being picked on there in the forum. As for the non paying bidder it's so stinking obviuos it's some ABSUSIVE eBay Algorithm. I am the victum here. The sellers messeges were non descript bot like garbage to string me along so eBay can send out invoices for nothing but thuggery and extortion. Anyone who cant see this probably goes in the lotto or thinks they are chatting with some hot blonde when they really are chatting with a bot.
You claim to be a victum but then at the end you say basically that 'let me tell you you'll gets whats comming to you for abusing people here'. Unbelivable, Man you can pay ppl to do anything it seems. Yuk
