Sold an item, received negative feedback...can I do anything about it?

Recently sold an item of makeup..brand new & sealed. In fact the wrapping went halfway down the product. I now see the buyer has left negative feedback for me stating "Item was not clean or in good condition"

What the??

I have emailed them but suspect they won't reply. Item was sent registered post.

Is this something I am just going to have to cop? Might not seem like a big deal to others but it is to me as I try my hardest to be a fair and honest buyer & seller.

Thanks for any replies or advice.

I left positive feedback because from my end everything went fine.

Well, there's no way that I would have given that Buyer a Positive.

Absolutely NO way in the world :^O

I would not have left the follow up, does not matter how tempting it is, now the whole thing jumps out the moment anybody looks at the page.  If you left it, nobody would have noticed.  It is irrelevant that you would have been happy to to resolve problem; you basically admitted there was a problem.

Has this spellchecker gone totally mad?  It picked up every single "you" in this post and suggested I put "Lou" instead :^O

Does makeup have a use by date?

I wonder if it had gone "off" and that is why they said it was not in good condition, or maybe left in a hot area?
