B/c they seem to have no idea about very old Mac operating systems and perhaps didn't read the description.
So it's not working when they try to install.
They seem to be clueless about "pre-Intel Macs" and "Classic environment".
I've never had problems before. Can someone advise what I can do about this?
I wouldn't mind getting it back but sending it back to me will cost more in postage than the item sold for.

Worst case scenario is that you get a neg - wear that red dot with pride for the next 12 months. ๐
Just tell the buyer to do what they feel they have to do, but they should bear in mind that you have the right of reply to neg feedback.
BTW, it makes no sense that they want a partial refund - if it's good enough to keep, it's good enough to be paid for in full.

If they do leave a neg, don't respond to it because you should be able to get it easily removed under eBay's feedback extortion policy.

100% feedback extortion

haha.
Seriously though, good advice.
Dear ebay,
I have a buyer who purchased some vintage software from me that is not compatible with modern computers. I clearly explained in the listing that the item can only be used on computers from the turn of the century.
The buyer is claiming that the item is faulty, when it is just not compatible with their modern computer. I explained to them that since the item is not faulty (it's just incompatible), that I am unable to accept a return of faulty goods. I did offer to provide a change of mind refund and explained that the difference is that the customer would have to pay return postage.
now they are still demanding a refund, and have threatened to give negative feedback.
Even though I have been clear in my listing about what the item is, and have attempted to be as accommodating as I can be. I feel as though I am being extorted into providing a refund if I want to avoid getting negative feedback.
I would immediately post that, or something like it using ebay's report a buyer function:

So far I have not offered them anything as I don't think they are entitled. It's entirely their fault. They didn't read the description, and in addition didn't contact me before buying to check (as most people would do, well I would anyway).
Ebay when I called them said they were not entitled to a refund.
Two days ago they said "you have until tomorrow to give me a partial refund or I will be giving you a negative feedback". I think they are just bluffing so I'll give them one even though they are in the wrong. I didn't respond.
Yep will check my feedback today and apply to get it removed if it has been left. Thanks everyone ๐

Well you got the neg but I'm just a bit curious though if you will be able to get it removed?
Because when I'm looking at your DSR I'm a bit worried because to me they don't look that good.
I'd be happy with 4.9 across the board but that's just me.
