Speak to a person

My son arranged to sell on eBay.  He was not aware he needed to be over 18 to get payout. I (his mother) was advised on a chat service to change bank details for payout but not working.  EBay did attempt to payout to my son’s bank account but funds were returned.  I have again tried to change bank details but the “full bank details” used to verify is not being accepted.  Please.. please… please can I speak to a person from eBay not by chat or follow link.  I’m so frustrated.  Please.  I am also reluctant to leave any person ID in this forum.  Can someone (a real life human) contact me on this post

Ebay sometimes read the boards, but there's no guarantee, and you're well outside business hours now, anyway.

It looks like he sold under your account?  The Pioneer XDJ RX?

Any wonder you're both howling for the money.

Have you fully signed up for Managed Payments and been verified.

Your bank account must be in the exact same name as your ebay account, or it will be rejected.

Also not a savings account.

Good luck.

edit:  You would have been better off getting cash on pick-up.

Re: Speak to a person

OP, how could either of you have missed the age limit information? When you sign up, you must tick that you’re 18 or over.

https://www.ebay.com.au/help/policies/identity-policies/age-limits-policy?id=4233

When eBay members agree to buy or sell items, they are entering into contracts with each other. Individuals under the age of 18 are not allowed to enter such contracts, so eBay does not allow them to register as members until they are 18.

eBay won’t make an exception for your son. If you talk to Live Chat (eBay CS), they are more likely to take action against your account than facilitate payment that would be unlawful for them to disburse.

If the sale was through your eBay account, you are the one who is presumed to have sold the item.

I will only say that if you intend to sell on eBay, the bank account name must match your name as per your eBay account.

Your son can’t sell or buy on eBay.

Re: Speak to a person

Did you actually sell 2 of those units ?  If you only sold one and didn't open a non-payer dispute you'll be paying eBay fees on both of them.

Re: Speak to a person

eBay staff can’t and won’t make special allowances for your son

The terms he had to agree to state you have to be over 18, you son had to tick that box he had read and understood

so I’m afraid the didn’t know story is null and void

And you as his mother could have made him aware

Did your son open an account with a different birthdate or use your account?

You also say you don’t want to post personal details on the forum

Why would you when there is a big banner right across the top of the page stating do not give out personal details?
