Stamped items getting lost? What do I do to cover my self?

Hi guys,

I sent items using 70 cent stamps, but 1 in 10 doesn't reach its destination.
Since I can't track this item or prove that I have posted it. 
It has been costing me alot of money, right now I resend the items to keep the customer happy.

But this is not sustainable in the long term.

Do you guys know what I need to do to cover my self and avoid this in the future?

I offer free post or registered post for an additional fee. I take a photo of every single item I post whilst at the post office box as evidence of having posted it.

Have you tested this out Clarry? Have you won a payapl case like this? I was told it was not acceptable as proof.

No I have not tested this out.
This was on the phone to PayPal during a case raised against us per above. We did not have any proof of postage at that time but the CSR explained what kind of evidence we would need in future when using regular mail. He sounded very much like he knew what he was on about.
But inconsistency seems to be the name of the game in so much with eBay anyway.
They closed that case NO FAULT.
