2-days ago we had a BIN item ordered and not paid yet from a buyer with user ID "xyz-abc". Not the real name just for illustration.
Just now another of the same item but a different colour has been ordered and again not paid with a user ID "xyz.abc". Note the only difference is the "." and "-" in the ID.
Postal addresses and person's name are identical.
The two user IDs were created in the last week and a ZERO FB score on both. One has been created just today.
I'm not too sure what to make of this kind of activity. Might be just as simple of someone having no clue what is going on.
I've sent a message asking for clarification, but so far no response.

It could be somebody you 'urinated' off in the past but if it is they have to pay if their intent is to leave negs so if you don't hear from them within 4 days I would open the disputes and cross my fingers that they don't pay before I could close them.
If they do pay I would send the items as if they were just usual orders, seperately of course with full Paypal cover, and if they do open any dispute or leave negs you have compelling evidence of malicious buying.
If they are genuine, newbies then I would expect them to reply to your enquiry, unless of course they are numpties as well as newbies! Again just send if paid for and open disputes if not.

I suspect the first buyer has bought the item and now can't find how to pay for it...probably can not even log into their account.
So they start another ID and buy again.
Be kind to the newbies until you prove that they are being malicious.

You would think though, if it was a new buyer who couldn't find the first purchase, that they would buy the exact same item again, in the same colour that was their first buy, wouldn't you?

Maybe Jenny, but have you got any better suggestion?
It certainly is a strange situation.

It sounds like they have purchased as a guest. When a buyer purchases as a guest ebay generates an ID which is a random mix of numbers and letters.
Just treat them as any other transaction.

It's not a random mix of letters and numbers.
It looks like a genuine first/last name separated in one case by "." and the other case by "-".
I just didnt put the real names up here in my original post becasue that is a bit of a non-no on the boards.
***EDIT***
Oh and by the way there has been no payment on either purchase yet and no answer to my question to please clarify.
I am tending to think its a new buyer who simply has NFI what they are doing.

UPI dispute on one closed already.
The other one coming up tomorrow.
Very strange behaviour.
