Need some help and advise.
I've been on eBay (in Australia) for 13 years and never had any issues with negative feedback or low DSR scores. But in the last four months I've just seen in my reports that I've been dinged with 3 low DSR's in each of 'Item Description' and 'Postage Time', 2 low DSR's in 'Communication' and 1 low DSR in 'Postage Time'.
By viewing the transactions from the months where these low scores happened it is not at all clear where they may have come from. My feedback is 100% and all comments are good, but the buyers have dinged the DSR's. This seems ridiculously unfair.
The reps don't seem to understand that buyers are getting very aware that they can leaving wonderful positive written feedback but seriously damge your account with the DSR's. I tried saying this to the overseas call centre but they told me that buyers don't do that and that if you give them good customer service and keep in contact with them they will leave you good scores. How little that rep knew!!
I have contacted eBay for help but all they wrote back to me was that I am not currently meeting the minimum selling requirements needed and some 'cut and paste' response from their handbook. I tried calling today only to get the overseas call centre where they gave me the same garbage they wrote in the email. I asked to speak to someone in Australia and was told that there are no customer service reps or call centres in Australia. WTH??
I guess I'm wondering if this now leaves me in a position where eBay will shut my accounts down. It just seems unfair that everything was perfect for 13 years and now a couple of buyers could get me thrown out and I have no idea what I did wrong.

I think what amber was actually getting at is the eBay policy re: multiple accounts. If a selling account has restrictions, technically you're not allowed to use other accounts to circumvent those restrictions.

Fair enough, got to admit I was a bit grumpy at the thought Amber was suggesting I condone "tactics" to beat the system when an account has been suspended for inappropriate conduct. . I,ve gone for a very long walk along the beach to cool down. Just for the record, I,m so honest I have, for many years been voted treasurer for our small parish church. Counting and banking the weekly collections and overseas relief funds. ( well thats actually a lie, but I could have been )

Well, if it helps... I'd trust you with the money I gave to a church (hypothetically, that is, as I don't trust any churches enough to give them money. )

Okay...
The way I read it is 1.2% for description and 2.4% for the rest AND 4 low DSRs.
If 12 month transactions are better than 350 (description) or 175 (everything else) then the percentage should apply. Which makes sense - there are plenty of sellers operating who would have a lot more than 4 low DSRs.
I also believe it is supposed to work the same as feedback - anything within a calendar week counts as 1.

Just curious
If the apparent current spurt of low DSR's ends, does that mean we will have an ex spurt?

I have more than one account and it is not this one I am talking about. This account is my private one for personal buying and selling and use for discussions on forums. I have another account that is my business selling account, this is the account that the problems have occurred on.
I'm sure you would understand keeping certain accounts for forum discussions and other accounts for business purposes.
And thank you for taking the time to have a look at that accounts performance though!!
The account with the problem has 4.9's across the board for DSR's. I suppose the question hear is at what stage do eBay take the action restricting people from selling?? I will definately lose TRS on that account, but if I get some buyer leaving me a 4th ding for Description or Postage time (which is out of my control) will that mean the end?
Thanks again for your reply.
Nah.
I got 4 low DSR's for postage costs (I charge C&S prices and that's what I use). They took my TRS away from me, but I still have PS and I can still trade. (But I don't, I spat the dummy and stopped selling on all accounts after getting an unfair negative,)
I had an item listed as used including a detailed description of the imperfections. The customer left me a negative saying that the item was used. eBay refused to remove the neg because the feedback was factual. When eBay contacted the buyer on my behalf, to ask what caused them to leave the negative, the buyer said they were expecting a new item. eBay would still not remove the neg.
So I packed up my bat and ball and decided that eBay was not an environment suited for me to sell on.

A bit like my account restrictions mentioned above really. The item was a rare new old stock engine part for a 1920,s stationary engine. It was listed in the stationary engine catagory, but because the modern Commodores & Falcons use a part with similar name, ebay wanted it in the car section with 25,000,000 car components. Go Figure. I had listed the same type of parts in the stationary engine catagory several times before with all items going overseas after animated bidding. After several calls to ebay reps who had no idea, I simply rolled my eyes and worked on my other accounts for a few days untill the restrictions ran out. Moral of the story is you need to be able to just roll with the punches sometimes as both ebay and some customers dont always make a lot of sense. If you take it all to heart to much, it can soon get to you.

I just checked my DSR,s on main account as I always have a few low ones there, particularly for postage as I charge an extra dollar or two for packing materials and sell mainly used items. I currently have 1 x four low DSR and 3 x three low DSR for the twelve months ( which is pretty normal for that account ) but because it is over a large number of transactions it is a very small percentage. ( around a quater of one percent ) Still 100 % pos. feedback score and TRS. Davewil is correct that the percentage is what matters over 350 & 175 transactions.
