Suspension on selling account and chance of appeal?

My selling account got suspended for 30 days and I was wondering if there's any chance at all of getting it reinstate sooner than the given time.

Long story short, the past couple of months I have been getting a MC018 listing removals due to the fact that I overlooked to revised some of wordings in the listings. These wordings were allowed to be included in the listing several months ago but the T&S interpretation on the policies has changed and they are now chasing after any listing that included these wordings. In case you are wondering, these wordings are just to show the compatibility of the products I'm selling with the machines that they can be used with.

Anyhow, I relisted a bunch of items the other day and forgot that 6 of those listings description haven't been revised (I have over 700 listings which almost all have been revised). I overlooked these and as a result got another MC018. I have always maintain a good standing account with Ebay and never even got a negative feedback out of 5500+ feedback during the past couple of years of trading on Ebay. Yet Ebay is treating me like I'm some sort of a scammer trying to scam the customers.

What concern me the most is I do not have access to pending orders and I don't want to frustrate the customers. I can pull up paid orders from paypal but I can't pull up any bank deposit orders. With this suspension I no longer have access to all those orders.

Have anyone had any positive experience appealing to Ebay T&S team to have the suspension lift? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Don't like your chances with appealing but no harm in trying.

eBay sees at as our responsibility to check listings before they are listed and 30 days is just standard. 700 would be a lot of work, I am revising all mine and you make me look very lazy lol

Do you still have the emails telling you that you have sold an item?

Also, do you know if eBay sent messages to the buyers advising them not to complete the transaction?

Weird I was blocked for a while from posting now its back again.

Sorry I dont like your chances either have a look at my post "Ebay has cancelled my Seller account Indefinately" Different reasons but Communicating with Trust and Safety is like trying to communicate with the Queen of England. They have no Direct Email, No Phones, No Postal Address, they only exist when they want to.

Unfortunately you can only list the actual brand name of the product you're selling; mention any others either in the title or the description and you're doomed - trust me, I know only too well:|

To get a 30 day selling suspension, I feel you must have had others before this; I've had two 3 day selling suspensions (mainly due to MC018 violations), and my next penalty should I breach any more policies will be 7 days.

I didn't bother to try and appeal mine, and I don't think you would have any success as you can't even speak to the T&S team (conveniently no telephones in their area) so I was told.

I found some of my listings on ebay.com.sg but couldn't mark them off as posted; one is still sitting there:^O

Motherbear, it's actually me (craftiecafe is my selling account). I posted on one of your threads during the holidays. I could not log onto powerseller board anymore. My last restriction was 7-day but I did not anticipate that they will move from 7-day restriction to 30-day suspension! I thought it would be more like 7 days to 14 days or sth 😞 I almost cried when I saw the email. This is just because there are these six old listings that I forgot to revised. Those listings ended several months ago and I didn't have stock until now and completely forgot about revising them when I relisted 😞

I sent an email to T&S as soon as I got the MC05 but have not gotten any reply. I'm not hopeful that they will lift the suspension.

Auction.assist, I read your thread and feel sorry for you too. You're right that trying to get in touch with T&S is like trying to communicate with Queen of England. It is almost impossible to reach them.

Oh dear, craftie, I had no idea it was you, and I am so sorry to hear of your suspension for 30 days:-(  3 days was too long for me - I had to actually do some housework:O

From my experiences all I got from T&S was cut and paste type emails which were of no help whatsoever.

All I can suggest is perhaps list some items on slow sales (at least it's free until you sell and the FVF is lower than here).  If you have any handmade items, there's an Aussie site you can list on for 120 days for 35c per listing; they have a sister site for craft supplies.  If you want any further information send me a message and I'll do my best to answer any questions:-)

U have no hope....in my recent dealings with ebay all you will get is a headache and 20 different responces that make no sence and contradict each other and the rules..If you try and contact them buy quite a few boxes of panadol as you will have a splitting headache from banging your head against a wall!!:  ^O

Suspension on selling account and chance of appeal?

My advice, not that I have been suspended..............yet, from reading the boards over the years is to leave well alone and not try and appeal. I would wait until it is over the 30 days and then actually ask them if you can start listing again before you actually try.

Some members who have had 30 day suspensions have found they are still unable to list after it is over and the harder they push T&S the longer they have to wait!

Hello everyone. Sorry I didn't have a chance to check up on the board during the past couple days. It's been a very busy weekend here. Thank you for all your replies. I just wanted to give everyone an update. I finally got the suspension lift (out of courtesy according to the T&S team). When I got the account (MC05) suspension on Thursday I sent two emails to the T&S team and the emails went to two different reps. One replied back with standard msg saying there's nothing they can do and I have to wait 30-day. Another (who's dealt with me before) replied back and said she would lift the suspension but I have to be extra careful from now on as it is the computer that detects the inappropriate keywords and because I've had a couple of MC018s since Oct, MC05 will be enforced. I now got the account back but have to relist everything and all sales history of the 700 listings were all gone. I'm still in the process of relisting and go to each single listings to make sure each of them are comply by their rules.

In my case, I think what got me into MC018 is pretty silly. The system allows sellers to list compatibility with other brands as long as you don't mention "fits with most .....". It is okay to say "fits/compatible with brand A, B, C, D, E, F, G, ......" as long as you don't have the wordings that imply that the product fits with most brands (for examples). They said it confuses customers.

Anyway, because of this, I've had 3- & 7- day selling restrictions in the past and never been able to have them removed like the others. I guess if I get another account suspension again I probably won't be able to get out of it. I've been spending the past two days screening every single listing just to make sure I don't make the same mistake again. Fingers crossed.
