Hi sellers,
I listed an item for sale with its price and postage cost ($11). However, a buyer was able to complete check-out and payment WITHOUT paying the postage cost.
I enquired with eBay Customer Support and was told that this is a TECHNICAL ISSUE that has been reported to them. Allegedly, when a buyer uses a smart phone, it may appear to them that a listed item is with FREE POSTAGE eventhough it is not.
Have any of you experienced the same problem?
Thanks!

I haven't personally, but it is a known issue and unfortunately, it's left to individual sellers to try and sort it out with buyers. It would be great if eBay could send an email on behalf of the seller so that the buyer could at least verify it's not the seller's fault, nor are they attempting to 'scam' extra money after the sale.
I would refund the payment, explain that a technical error cased it to be listed as free post, and give them the option of proceeding with the purchase with postage added, or cancelling the sale.

You're right. I was told by eBay Customer Support to simply contact the buyer and request additional payment to cover the postage cost.
EBAY SHOULD IMMEDIATELY FIX THIS TECHNICAL PROBLEM.
To all sellers, kindly support this call by contacting eBay about this (or by reporting similar incidents). If this technical issue is not fixed, this can happen to you too.

This has happened to us serveral times with customers that are purchasing items using there I Phones. Most customers are great but I Have had a few that just dont believe you and think you have been misleading.
On the Ebay app it states your item has free shipping even when there is a postage charge.
This has been happening for some time now and needs to be fixed asap.

Well picture...as a buyer I would presume that the seller was just trying to get more money out of me as well. Sorry, but technical issue or not, it is in no way the buyers problem.

If they buy it refund, you don't have to sell it if you don't want, especially if your not getting what you want for it.
