I'm thinking about selling change the world bumper stickers like - "We haven't had a labour party since Gough Whitlam" "Fluoride is poisonous please stop putting it in the water" ... "If everybody is in debt who does everybody owe the money to?" Does anyone have any suggestions on testing sales before I pay to get these things printed?

Your best bet would be to have a look at the (nearly) 42,000 listings for them and then look at completed listings for them, then ask yourself if you can compete pricewise with the other sellers.
TBH what you're thinking of selling would have a very narrow niche market - probably older Australians, who I suspect don't put stickers on their cars anymore.

didn't 'bumper' stickers become redundant when they stopped putting bumpers on cars?

What about bumper stickers available in a variety of different colours, but with no words on them?
Nothing better than hiding those bumps and scrapes we all get in shopping centre carparks with one of your 'Blank bumper stickers'!
