Does anyone know what a buyer will see if we use time away on our eBay store and hide the listings.
Does a message show on the storefront, or something like that.
We're going away for a couple of weeks and want to hide our listings, but don't want our regular buyers to think we've closed down, or ended all our listings.
Thanks for any help.

from recollection, it shows on top of each listing......This seller is away until....(or something like that)

Thanks twyngwyn, I've already read that link, but the help page doesn't specifically answer my question.
The message at the top of each listing is there when listings are left visible - we want to hide our listings so they're not seen in search results, but would like to know if anything shows when buyers go to our store (which won't show any listings), or search our userid.

❝When you allow item sales to continue while you're away, it's important to remember the following points:
❝When you pause item sales, remember the following:
But…
❝Auction listings: When you pause item sales, buyers will still be able to see and buy your auction-style listings but they'll see a message at the top of the listing informing them that you're on time away. The estimated delivery date will also be updated in the Postage and Delivery section.❞

Click Manage your store - top right. Click Tell Your Story - this allows you to change any banner you may have made. I simply say something like "I am away until ???, please come back then." So far as I know it only shows if someone clicks on the "About" button, which regular buyers may do. I do that every year when I go on holidays - whether people see it / read it I have no idea. There is also an automatic message you can manage on the Time Away page if people try to contact you through messages - which again a regular buyer may do.
I understand that BIN listings are not visible through search results - if people have items on their watch list I think that the message about being away will come up. Presumably user id takes them to your store - no idea if the Time Away note from eBay will show then.

Thanks siddieswans - I was thinking of putting something on the banner, but hoped eBay would put something on our profile or store - obviously not (why am I not surprised?).
Not sure if we'll worry about the automated reply as we'll still be checking messages while we're away (just in case someone has a problem, at least we can respond to them in a timely manner).
Oh well, we'll just have to do the best we can and hope we don't lose too many buyers.
Also, thank you to countess for your reply.

Use the time away settings. There are two options, one hides listings and other keeps them visible with a message alerting buyers to your holiday. You can keep your listings visible with a message "Seller is away until XYZ" for 15 days. You'll then need to clear your orders when you're back.
If your trip is longer than 15 days you'll need to suspend sales completely. Then, when you are 14 or 15 days out from returning change to the other mode.
