To start selling here question.

Good morning.

I was just wondering if there is a protocol in place for when a member is able to start selling? For example: do I need to have a certain number of feedback from buying items?

I have a few items such as household items, books, dvds and a couple of pick up items also that I'd like to get rid of.

Obviously as a new member with only 1 feedback so far people might be wary. I am purchasing some lower cost items to try to build up feedback score.

thank you in anticipation of your advice and tips.

Good morning Grumpy,

Excuse me if I repeat what some memebers have said here already but I have not read all of their replies yet.

I also started out with only 1 feedback score and a very small business... I still am very small but I am also slowly growing...

I have one tip for you when it comes to having a low feedback score and how to gain a little more trust from buyers, It's simple really.. and that is to be honest...

Once your ad is almost complete, do a "About Us" text near the buttom.. and explain that you are a new seller etc etc etc.. that's what I had to do and so far it's paying off... It lets buyers know that Yes you may not be a top rated seller yet BUT with there help you can achieve this. Just give them a lot of information.. read some other top sellers ad's and notice all the extra information they have. Information about Payment/ About Us/ Contact Us.. But be honest.

Re: To start selling here question.

Thank you just_kits , that is a good idea.

My excitement was rather tongue in cheek lyndal1838, I figured it was to do with perhaps the number of views this has had and certainly know that I won't be getting a reward for being a featured post. I guess sarcasm doesn't really show much when it is words on a screen.

Hopefully someone else will know how to post photos onto these pages and share that with me or else I'll just muddle along and have a good old attempt at it tomorrow when I have time. I will have to make sure I use the preview button rather than post each time though as I made so many attempts to get my signature right the other day that I was not permitted to post for 24 hours.

Click the direct link in PB, not img, click on the 'world' icon here (to the left of the smiley one), select  'From the Web', paste in the URL and click 'Add'.

You need to do  bit more buying grumpy cat.  You need to have 10 feedback to have unrestricted posting privileges on the boards.

Re: To start selling here question.

Thank you to those with advice for photo posting. I will try that today when I have the chance.lyndal1838  I will be doing more buying when I see something I want. There's a grumpy cat car sticker I've seen that I like and a few more trashy romance novels.

I'm waiting on another item I bought last weekend to arrive, hopefully it shall arrive today.

10 feedback to have unlimited posts you say? Ah, the penny drops. That is possibly why I was unable to post the other day, after I had been practicing my signature so many times. Thank you for enlightening me about that little rule.

I cannot imagine why ordinarily I would need more than 10 posts. Perhaps later on.

I have been starting to peruse the Community Spirit discussion forum on here. My oh my, with some topics it seems to be like walking through a minefield! Some comments made by some people on there were quite nasty. I may need to look on ebay for a seller of tacticle response vests. Hehe!

I thought a class of primary school boys was difficult to handle but I think some of the adult forum members in there might make pre adolescent boys seem like a handful of kittens in comparison.

Still I guess it's a matter of finding a nice topic to drop in and say hello in. The Caturday one sounds like fun.

But first that vest. Just in case.

Re: To start selling here question.

Well, what can I say.  Here we have a polite articulate new seller who asks for

some genuinely needed advice and gets arrows stuck in her from the get go.

Welcome grumpy and best wishes for selling.  I love your siggy and I can really

relate to it, lol.

The only thing I would like to know now is your selling ID as I'd

like to have a look at what you've got.     😛

You will not need a flack jacket for the Caturday thread grumpy cat. It is one of the tamer threads around.

And yes, you will soon go through 10 posts if you get into a fast moving discussion.  If you are planning on spending time on the boards then unrestricted posting priveleges are a must have.

Oh for heavens sake....where are the arrows?

The OP asked for advice and was given a suggestion.  She changed the siggie almost immediately, so why keep harping on the subject.  Did you see the original signature?

Re: To start selling here question.

You're doing really well, Cat Lady.  Your feedback has doubled since your first post. 😄  You'll soon be posting more and, hopefully, you'll soon have the confidence to start selling.

You are never fully dressed until you put a smile on your face.
