Just to change things up a bit, thought I'd have a whine about..
NO DEAD 'ORSE LEFT ON THE SHELVES. WHAT!!! How dare the doomsdayers deprive me of this great Aussie tradition. I tried not to panic or show my shock, although my potty mouth has a mind of it's own and didn't disappoint.
I made my way to the freezers to at least secure the dog's eyes, but it was like I was in a nightmare, the freezer was empty!!!
What now? How will I cope? I sauntered out of the shop defeated. Next step, a whine on the forum. I feel sure I can blame Ebay for this, I do for everything else lol
Frantically searched for tomato sauce listings, ready to slander the price gougers BUT there were barely any listings. So who can I blame now? Please help. I'm barely holding it together. I feel casting blame will help my mental state

Tomatoes, lots of sugar, lots of salt. Hey presto.

Have a close look at your sauce bottle. Made in Australia from at least ## % imported ingredients. Many brands rely on cheaper Italian grown tomatoes and exports out of Italy might be a little slow at the moment... that could be a good thing for Australian farmers ?

Do you not like the long life milk? The stuff they make today is really good, unlike the old UHT milk that was disgusting. I've been using tetra packs of skim milk for tears, my kids grew up with it, still use it. I like the Coles brand the best & the price at about $1. I don't think it has to be refrigerated once opened
We have used the Coles long life milk for years too.....semi skim....I do not like the skim.
We usually buy it in 6 or12 carton lots and I went for a outer carton of 12 just a few days before the stockpiling began as I was going to do some cooking for the freezer.
As soon as the rush started we grabbed another outer carton of 12.
Well stocked here with both milk and tomato sauce.

It is a long and expensive trip from WA to Sydney for some milk and tomato sauce.

I guess I had a little (luck) - my choices today (from the long life shelf) were flavoured milks, goat's milk, and a 6-pack of 200ml full cream milk boxes, complete with plastic straws (which require refrigeration after opening, but I'm hoping they'll keep for a day in a cooler bag, lol). A little hesitant to try them, but gonna boil the kettle now - something a little unsettling about room-temp milk even though I'm using it to make hot coffee.
I usually hang out for a bit at my local pub (cafe side) just to have a coffee and a snack, after I've posted my mail. Didn't last week, and they're closed from today - gonna miss their cappucinos.
