Tracked Satchel by Australia Post

Hi all,

I sold a small item last month and sent it the following day , Payment was made via paypal.

3 weeks later the buyer emailed asking where it was. however, the tracking number showed that the parcel has been delivered after a week i logded over the counter of my Post office.

The buyer has lodged a paypal claim and the sale amount has been frozen in my paypal account.

Could somebody please tell me what am i responsible for this matter??

As the tracking system has shown that the parcel has been delivered, is there anything i can do if the buyer still lodged a paypal claim even if he has already received the item??

Thanks heaps

that's interesting cq, i never knew that and have usually sent registered or signature required and never sent express for expensive items. Do you have to ask for the AP lodgement forms?

Re: Tracked Satchel by Australia Post

You generally do need to ask for a lodgement form but if you're on good terms with your local PO, they'll probably give you a whole handful of the things so you can complete them at home, and at your leisure.

As far as Express Post is concerned, I believe that Express parcels, the 5kg satchel, and Platinum Express all qualify for Paypal seller protection as they're normally lodged OTC with sufficient information to satisfy Paypal in the event of non-delivery.

However, the 500g & 3kg Express (and all Red) satchels require proof of posting to a specific address and the standard PO postcode receipt carries insufficient information to qualify for seller protection, but is easily overcome by completing a lodgement form when posting those particular sized satchels.

You can print out the lodgement forms yourself if you wish.
