I sent a wii U by regular post, boxed, and with tracking to another suburb of Melbourne.
I followed the Trackng and it was delivered 2 days after I lodged it with the post office.
The weekend passed, and for all I thought the buyer was spending the weekend playing the games and console, as I was waiting to see if they were going to give me feedback.
After the weekend pased the buyer contacted me and said that the parcel did, not arrive, even though the tracking reads it was delivered, and they proceeded to open up an invesitgation through Aus Post.
The thing that worries me is, I have only have ever had issues with those in WA for items "delivered" and "Not received", and I do gage that many Aussies in the bulk are integrity based people, and honest.
Is this buyer taking advantage of the fact I did not register the parcel?
How do I know if they have received it, or whether Aus Post is responsible for a C*** up?
Lesson learned...Register everything. it was only travelling 30km away from me, in the same city.
Left an even more taste in my mouth than I had before... Seller protection is a myth.
So let me get this right. The payment I got for the Wii U is frozen, the Wii U (? Who knows where it is, or who has it) and I will have to pay the fees on the auction...
I think this really is the last straw for me. Just selling stuff now, to get my paypal balance back in the positive, and then I think i am done with this site, once and for all...
If anyone has been in asimilar situation or has advice so I can go about not being completely stuffed over would be appreciated.
Thanks 🙂

There is something peculiar about that tracking.
The parcel was with AP in Mooroolbark for delivery on 7/11...supposedly delivered at Ringwood a few hours later but the buyer was able to open an enquiry only 3 days later in Milton Queensland???
I have never known AP to open an enquiry is less than 10 days, and why would it be done in another state?

A parcel that was supposed to be delivered to me has been missing since 9th Nov,enquirey was put through on the 14th and still no word on where it is? Today is the 29th Nov
Another parcel that was lost went in my favour as a seller,PayPal refunded me but I'm not sure if the buyer received a refund as I don't get told about the buyers position only that I won the case, and that took around 3 weeks to resolve and like I said in my previous post all AP gave me was the postage cost that I paid which I'm still waiting to receive from AP by money order, was told 5 business days to receive it well what do you know that was nearly 15 business days ago, great work AP.

All I can think of is that OP has sent the parcel to the wrong buyer with the wrong tracking #??????

If a parcel has scanned as delivered, yet it has not been delivered to the address being sent to, an investigation can be opened with Australia Post immediately.
Done it several times, as a sender and as a recipient.

So buyer will be refunded from seller thru paypal, but if seller can prove postage then don't paypal reimburse the seller from their own kitty ?
If they don't I would be getting in touch with the FO

Unfortunately, in this day and age very few people can be trusted so I refuse to post anything without being fully insured and with sign on delivery so that I'm hopefully covered if anyone tries to scam me in a trade. If buyers don't want to pay the little extra for insurance and SoD, then I'm more than happy for them to buy elsewhere!
Even so, I'm not 100% confident that ebay would be on the right side even with all the proof, but they have the monopoly in trading sites at this stage.

Anything over $50 I pay for SOD and over $100 I pay for extra cover. IMO if a parcel goes missing I am going to want the people responsible, that is AP, to cover the loss not Paypal, ebay or anyone else.
First thing you have to check is the buyer's postcode showing on the PO docket or did you send it using the ebay labels or click and send? If yes to one of those options then just provide the tracking number to Paypal.

Collective....
We had just this happen to us very recently.
We ordered an item and needed it urgently so chose the option for Express mail.
The seller sent us the tracking number which duly showed in transit.
The next day it show delivered but we had not received it. The destination showed as delivered to Morriset near Newcastle. We are in Brisbane.
So I contacted the seller thinking they may have provided us with a wrong tracking number.
But they came back most apologetic and said they had mailed our order to the wrong address.
They resent it to us again by express but by then we had missed our need for having asked for express in the first place.
They were lucky to escape bad FB, but as a seller ourselves we didn't bother to leave any FB at all.
They made a mistake and owned up to it right away. So we chose not to injure them.

These things happen don't they, and seeing as OP hasn't responded in a while I'm only guessing that one of our posts on here might be the answer to what has happened?
