Unfair Negative Feedback - Sellers Beware

Hi Everyone

 

I sold an item to a buyer who is claiming the item was received damaged and parts were missing.

The buyer would not provide photo evidence but did state what parts were missing.

I explained that she would need to return the item as we did not keep spare parts (courier would pick up)

she asked for cash compensation instead. I explained we did not do this and that she would need to return the item]

for a refund or exchange.

So now i have received Negative Feedback - This is all wrong, how can she not provide photo evidence that

the item was faulty, refuse to return, ask for cash and when I refused to give cash she can leave Negative Feedback!

and how many sellers has she done this to, the item was most likely in perfect condition and this is a scam

I cant even leave her a Negative, so frustrating!!

Sorry i just wanted to have a whinge because theres nothing i can do about this

I don't see any neg on your account. The only thing you can do is leave a follow up to her neg stating the facts.
I would leave her ID first so others can block her if need be. eg
Harley_babes_hoard,  claims damaged item would not return or show proof. wants refund

You mnight be able to do something, it just depends on what the buyer said in their feedback

 

Maybe a followup of offered full refund or replcacement etc.


Some people can go their whole lives and never really live for a single minute.

There is most certainly something you can do about this - I can not see neg on your account, so assume the buyer is 'threatening neg' !

 

You have offered to pick up at your cost, refund on return, no questions asked, they have demanded monetary compensation that they are NOT entitled to.

 

If you do receive the neg they are threatening contact eBay as soon as you can, keep all correspondence between the buyer and yourself, this is blatant feedback extortion.

 

Speak to a supervisor about this, do not accept the blah blah from the phone drone that answes your call.

Is not feedback extortion unless she has threatened to leave a negative if not getting a refund. And even then ebay are very particular about what they remove believe me.

Harley - you are not going crazy - I edited my reply when I realised the OP has not received a neg yet. LOL

 

Regardless though - the buyer is not asking for a refund, they are asking for monetary compensation without proving (photo) or returning the item, and that IS extortion.

If all the communication between yourself and the buyer was within the ebay message system ring ebay and ask them to read through the messages and request the feedback be removed. From what you have said you have tried to sort this out with the buyer and they have been uncooperative so there is a good chance ebay will remove it as the buyer does not have the right to demand cash compensation.

The buyer does not have the right to demand another item either without photo evidence of damage as in my case. buyer threatened a new item or negative feedback ebay would not remove the neg.

Harley - it is all depends on what the communication is between the buyer and the seller as to whether or not it is able to be removed. For example if the seller has offered to pay for the item to be returned for an exchange or refund and the buyer refuses then in that situation ebay will sometimes remove the negative feedback.
