can you make a comment in an unpaid item dispute? and actually view the dispute too like you used to?
the only access i can see is the 'close dispute" button next the the item in 'my ebay'
on the 3rd day of opening the dispute the buyer emailled me and said they'd send money order express post
3 days have passed & i should have recieved it by now as express post only takes 2 day for delivery
i want to ask for the tracking number in the dispute page from the buyer
or do i have to email the buyer to ask for the tracking number?

Think the buyer is pulling your leg Joz.
IMO - close the case, get your fee's back and re-list.
If the money order turns up (doubt it will at this late stage) then you can return it and call eBay to remove the strike the buyer will get.
You can't get neg FB once a case is closed, and the address of the buyer will be on the Express envelope.

A NPB dispute is nothing like a Paypal dispute where both parties can communicate.

A money order costs $7.95,an express post envelope costs around $5.55=$13.40
Your items including postage cost less than $10
The non payer is either full of it or has more money than sense IMO.
Don't waste your time on them.

thats what i thought too greencat, I was so close to giving them a strike.
i emailled the buyer and asked for the tracking number today and the buyer got back to us; said they posted the funds off today! and passed on the tracking number to me.
no idea why they cant pay PP or DD, but apparently their working hours doesnt allow them to get to the OP to pay money order, but they made time for it today.
i'll wait untill friday to see how she goes and might need to ask how to track that number online just to see if its legit....if the mail doesnt arrive.
i wonder how long can an unpaid item dispute be opened for lol

deja, yes i remember now.. chatting on PP disputes, thought ebay was the same
wow that is an expensive way to pay fox. the item + postage does adds to around $25 though, but still.. i agree.
i checked their feedback and sellers are happy with their quick response & payments, i aint so far. but unlike other non payers this ones friendly and communicates

can you make a comment in an unpaid item dispute?
There should be an automated message saying ...
Do not blame your seller for the opening of this dispute! YOU haven't paid and YOU haven't let them know why.
End rant 🙂

i had a buyer go completely ape on me for opening an unpaid dispute over a $6 item, i said: i couldnt believe a buyer bids then doesnt pay for a $6 item. He says; i cant believe this.. so i changed my mind CLOSE THE DAMN DISPUTE! I said; i cant believe non payers such as yourself dont realize by winning an item the seller gets slugged for the FVF and any other incurring fees. If the you dont pay the only way to recoup those fees are to issue an unpaid item strike to the buyer. He says; what its only a few cents you tight as a fishes &^%$!!
had to put that fellow on my block list, and to put icing on the cake- gave negative comments in his feedback (didnt know that was against the rules at the time. it felt good tho

"deja, yes i remember now.. chatting on PP disputes, thought ebay was the same"
It used to be the same but in 2009 when ebay reduced the amount of time before a dispute could be opened from 7 to 4 days, they changed it stating:
"there are fewer forms to fill out, and no more mandatory back and forth between the buyer and seller - sellers determine whether and how much to communicate with buyers directly and communication should take place in My Messages only"
