Updated Australia Post preparid satchel prices

For those sellers who use the prepaid AusPost red satchels, here is the price list that came into effect on Monday (it's hard to find this info on the AP website, esp for single satchels).

Postage cost for large letters has remained the same.

Re: Updated Australia Post preparid satchel prices

If you grab a copy of the Free "Post Charges" booklet from the PO next time, everything is in there. Latest is dated 1/10/2018.

They produce a new one twice a year in line with their increases.

Once you get used to working with it, it is very helpful and on hand, I keep mine next to the screen so easy to grab.

Any special info I just highlight or write in and carry over from booklet to booklet.

Re: Updated Australia Post preparid satchel prices

I've been using the plain white satchels that my PO supplies - they come in a bulk pack of 100 and cost me around $40 for the pack. I pay $8.30 for actual postage (with current increase), so the price works out around the same HOWEVER, the main difference is the size of the white satchel as it's somewhat bigger than the regular 500g red satchel so I can fit more multiple purchases into it, rather than having to upsize to the 3kg red satchel.

Aust Post 500gram satchels that you pay postage separately are only $15 per 100. You are much better off using the ebay postage service as they only charge $7.55 with tracking and delivery automatically applied to the sale so saves time.

Re: Updated Australia Post preparid satchel prices

I read it that Jelly was happier using the plain white satchels as they were bigger than the regular 500g satchels. The eBay ones are quite small and I've had trouble a few times fitting things in.

You can use either satchel with the ebay postage service.

Oh really? I thought you had to use the eBay printed ones. I'm getting low on satchels, I might have to look at the plain white ones if they are a bit bigger. Thanks!

If my item won't fit a standard 500g red satchel, but is still under 500g, I just use my own wrapping. This achieves much the same as your use of plain white satchels, except I am not paying for the satchels, and can fit oddly shaped items that will not fit satchels. Cost of postage is the same as the plain white ones, and I also get tracking.
