Is this just happening to me because of some 'hiccup' in the system or is it the case for everyone that when you look at others feedback, its no longer possible to view the past items they have sold or purchased ?
Of course its not an essential part of ebay trading to be able to do this. In fact, I always felt a little voyeuristic when I did trawl through the past purchases of one of my buyers. But the fact is it used to be possible and now (at least for me) it is not.

maybe the ones your peeking at have set their feedback to private?
you can still get your kicks by doing a search of completed listings for the past 30 days via advanced search

Thanks for your reply.
By the way, have you set yours to private because like everyone else I've tried I can't view items from any of your past transactions

No, mine should be public
so it looks like that's not the problem then, that's a shame.
thought I had your solution.

I just had a look at yours - I see what you mean
I can see your actual feedback, but the little "view" tab that would take you to the original listing isn't there.
That's a shame, I hope it is a glitch because lots of people have been able to get help on the boards by people being able to see the listings.

It's not a glitch. There's an article on the ecommercebytes site "eBay Eliminates Purchase Details from Feedback System"
Because eBay did not announce the change, many wondered if it was a glitch or a test. But eBay spokesperson Ryan Moore confirmed it was a deliberate policy change. "Based on customer feedback from both buyers and sellers, we have made the decision to remove the view item link and item ID information on Buyer and Seller Feedback profiles pages," Moore told EcommerceBytes.

so it makes feedback even more pointless. It was handy to know whether prior customers were happy with the item you intend to buy. Now if someone leaves feedback like " great item, works well" it's pointless when you can't see the item.

Thanks for the info.
Not exactly a surprise that ebay didn't think it appropriate to make an announcement about it directly to their members.

I can still see the View Item links on FB profiles (but not if I click on the feedback score from the forum, as that still takes you to eBay.com not eBay.au).
I guess it'll probably disappear eventually, but you can still see the item titles so it wouldn't be that hard to find the listing / check FB for specific products (and the links always disappeared after 90 days, anyway).

now I am looking this blank page..the page showing negs same as well...what is this? after that, what's the purpose of checking for feedback what item what feedback? shame on ebay, day by day gettin' ridiculous!
