Just a warning to all ebay sellers to be extremely careful dealing with buyers who hide their feedback comments.
i have had nothing but trouble with users who have done this to their account, what do they have to hide?.
have they created disputes with other sellers as well?, no one knows because you can not read the comments other people have left!.
i don't know why ebay even lets users do this.

🙂
From what I understand they are more interested in what people sell and how much money they make

Thanks Hawk - I've got three of 'em within a 10 day span LOL - Busy month here in the Crikey Household - but you missed what I bought Little Crikey - must have been on another account LOL.
I did see a third item but believed the 2 would prove the point, no malice intended.
Its why I have been using a different account that no one knows for over 12 months now. 😉
The chances of buying from that someone who was after my details was getting too high.

it's all cool Hawk 🙂 I know there was no malice intended - was a bit surprised though cos the items listed were from this account - so I learned something - I thought by being private it meant that no one could see what I bought - but obviously they can...
so now I am confused about the whole private thing - maybe those in the know can tell me please? (I knew I could see what I bought cos I was logged in iykwim - but I always assumed no one else could) so what is the point of it?
but Hawk - I got little Crikey a handbag - her first "grown up" one, cos she's just become a teenager LOL - and I checked - that definitely was on my buying account LOL
(so yes - that other CD on there was mine - LOL - *looks embarrassed*)

Actually - I have just discovered where I got a green dot but a negative comment.
I bought a pair of $180 shoes listed as brand new in box with original packaging etc..... They arrived without box, wrapped in nothing but the post satchel or tags (and I buy this brand very regularly - so know the box, packaging and tags - one being a little red disc that is actually a collector kind of thing and I have every one of them since I first started wearing this brand of shoes back in 1988.) and they had dirty footprints in them and were scuffed!
To be fair, I was able to wash off the dirty footprints and the scuffs did polish out with a bit of elbow grease - but I was a bit peeved about the tags - so I did message the seller and tell them, but wasn't too worried about it, cos the shoes themselves scrubbed up OK.
Well, as it turned out, the shoes were left overs from a retail shop - so had obviously been tried on etc (hence the dirty footprints - but doesn't explain the missing tags and packaging).
I explained to the seller that they were incorrectly listed, as they were not brand new in box with all the relevant packaging and tags etc.
Their answer to me was that they were a new seller (over 2000 feedback for sales of shoes) and had made a mistake etc etc. We exchanged a few messages about that, with them asking me advice on how to list (I'm like - WTF? I don't sell shoes - I'm not the right person to ask that) but I suggested that they look at how other sellers of that brand were listing their shoes (lots of big sellers on here, so plenty of examples several of which I provided links to) and said it'd be a good idea to revise the listings etc - cos at this stage I was happy enough, as my shoes had cleaned up OK, but the next person may not be.
Keep in mind here that at no time was I offered a refund, whole or partial (not that I wanted one anyway) - but at one stage I was offered "a" box from the same brand, but a different style - but never the identifying collectable tags)
After about 3 weeks, I checked the seller's other listings and they had not made one alteration to any of their listings - still selling ex shop stuff as new in box etc...
So, after all the lies and excuses, I left a neg saying something like item not as described, not new, no box or tags.
They then left me a green dot saying something like customer confused, solution offered but denied.
LOL - I just went back and checked a few of their current listings - still listing as Brand New In Box with original packaging etc and unworn, never used etc and original tags etc (whatever the eBay category says) but they have at least added a few disclaimers to their listings now - including that the shoes are left over from a retail store and may have marks etc.... and original packaging is not available if it won't fit in a 3kg satchel (though a pair of these shoes weigh 658g) but we can contact them before listing ends if we do want the box (it's just lightweight cardboard - not like a normal shoebox) nothing said about the tags though.
But this made me chuckle a bit
"Do you think my postage is too high? My handling fee is included in postage and when you consider the many hours it takes to source, move into storage, photograph, describe, pack & mail my items I think that my fee is pretty fair. If you as a buyer enjoy the convenience of shopping on Ebay for free (no petrol, no parking fee) and don’t understand or have any problem with my fee, please do not buy my items. I am unable to take responsibility for loss or damage by Australia Post."
So they still just don't get it, eh? They don't understand that their policies don't overrule eBay's Rules/Guidelines or Aust. Consumer Law.
They are still listing in the wrong category believing their disclaimers trump eBay rules and the law.
Oh, and their feedback is over 3000 - so not such a new seller, eh? And selling since 2006! Over 1000 pair of shoes listed atm.
Still got BNIB in heading and listed in this category
"Item specificsCondition: New with tags: A brand-new, unused, and unworn item in the original packaging (such as the original box or bag) and/or with the original tags attached."

If you as a buyer enjoy the convenience of shopping on Ebay for free (no petrol, no parking fee)
LOL I can do that at my local shopping centre.. I don't have a car so no parking space needed (even if I did it would be free) I live a 5 minute walk from the local shopping centre so my fuel is food and transport is my feet.

so now I am confused about the whole private thing - maybe those in the know can tell me please? (I knew I could see what I bought cos I was logged in iykwim - but I always assumed no one else could) so what is the point of it?
Going through the advance search only shows items bought in the past 30 days, while in FB it is possible to see them much longer. But I assume that most people who have private FB on here, do not use them usually for buying. I do not, unless I forget and buy something and only realise I am logged in with the wrong ID after I hit the commit button 🙂
