this happened to my daughter, what would you do
she purchased 3 separate small items that was $4.00 each with free postage that went into a large letter $1.40 very light weight .
now what would you do as a seller they can all fit and weigh in a large letter under the 125g weight would you send it in 1 large letter or separately or send it in 1 large letter and give a refund for postage or no refund

@joethenuts wrote:this is not a trick question ,its all about what the everage ebay seller would do, i am curious .
I have no answer to how the average seller would package the items.....one parcel or separate parcels but definitely no refund of postage.
By ebay rules, sellers can give a discount on postage but not on the item cost. If the items are listed as Free Postage there is no postage to discount.

i have plenty of energy and yes i donate paint in fact last year 200 litres from kindergardens to shelters, in fact i help out looking after disabled people with my wife which she does full time for aprox 20 years. one of the funiest things was one day a client of my wife a one on oneclient ,which the deparment was giving up on and his family as he was very dangerous ala throwing microwave ovens at her.after 1 year this bloke was singing in the xmas show for disabled , i met him for the first time and my wife said this is my husband joe and he said to me [sorry] i cracked up.

For what it's worth -
In case A - I would send them together, but send them an extra complimentary one.
In case B - I would send them together, Express Platinum because of the value of the goods, and include an extra gift.
That's in the world according to Sue, which is a simple, uncomplicated world.

My answer to your daughter's sales would most likely be A, but I can see why some sellers would choose B (that was sending them together?) if there was no tracking.
My answer to your son's sales would most definitely be A because if someone bought something off me and it cost $90, it would be going with tracking, for sure. The other items weren't cheap either, from memory, so ditto.
To me, I don't see the examples you gave as identical because although all involved the infamous free post, the price difference of the items was radically different.
A seller might be prepared to take risks with a $4 item, but not a $90 one.
