I think 4green2000's tongue was firmly in her cheek when she made the comment.
Do you thing the price rises will stop now that AP is making a great profit on their parcel services?
Not b***** likely.....they can keep on uping the prices while the letter service is losing money. And that is not likely to change any time soon.

another interesting article re Australia Post - http://www.news.com.au/finance/business/other-industries/shrinking-package-australia-post-hasnt-chan...
this time, regarding the fact that the compensation amount for lost standard post articles ($50) has not changed / increased since 1987.

The current CEO of whom you're alking about (Ahmed Fahour), was the CEO of NAB bank. He was the only one that the board, (and share holders ), believed could bring the company out of the hole they were in. (he is a very talented EO). They needed to better his salary with NAB in order for him to consider taking the job.
You get what you pay for. What price to you put on raising the Titanic?
Look at it this way, if you had an incredibly successful career, would you leave one job, for a harder one and 1/5 of the salary that you are drawing now? Of course not. its as simple as that.
You think the postal system is expensive now? If he didn't take over when he did, we'd be paying a lot more.
RE: "I don't think you understand the corporate world".." and im glad your not my body corporate manager" !!
you for real? so AU post is all good according to you? LOLOL...
here, check this link out (one of many similar stories online) and then reassess what you stated .. "he" "bring the company out of the hole they were in"..He was appointed Managing Director and CEO of AP in early 2010 (7 years ago). in my books the company is in a bigger hole than ever...its all about customers. read this then tell me if customers are happy and think he is a very talented.....march 2016...news.com.au/finance/business/australia-post-flooded-with-complaints-from-fed-up-customers/news-story...

Yes the parcel prices keep on going up, and know we know why.
It takes a lot of postage to cover that enormous salary.
no wonder they say they are losing money.

@ im-entertainment. Getting the compensation for "lost standard post articles" is almost impossible these days (if not impossible). If you don't have tracking AP won't even lodge a missing parcel claim.

It is only letter post that is losing money.....the parcel section is making huge profits which have more than tripled in the last 2 years.
Overall AP is doing very nicely and well and truly covering the CEO's exorbitant salary....there is plenty in the pot for next year's bonuses.

thanks :] yeah, realise that - more posted the article just because i thought it was interesting that the value had remained the same for the past 30 years. with the level of trust i have in AP, i wouldn't bother sending anything at all without tracking these days :]

With all the ripping off of people caught in these ruthless trading partner triangles many of us are winding down and retreating from these type entitled overpaid aholes as they rip the guts out of any reason (profit motive) to expend our time/effort in any enterprise or work .. unfortunately trying to keep your head above water is a waste of time and the entire economy is designed to exploit small timer workers/traders while the boss stamps his feet and wants extra from his enslaved/intimidated/traumatised workforce etc .. I could put something here about lifters and leaner's which shows the government is quite onboard with all the banker and corporate exploitation and tax dodging but stample all over the small bloke and come after him/her if there is an accidental $5 discrepancy in reporting of income .. I know how mean and trivial the tax department can be as had a workplace deduction denied for an important piece of essential work related equipment and will never forget it!!!! if any person in government is reading this you can go and F yourself/s; you are criminally negligent and have ruined this country and what is left is a black market economy just like what finished Greece off .. honestly enough is enough, we have all seen all the buck passing and blame games and are sick to the stomach you (government) think you can feed us a constant stream of recycled BS and that your vile gutless spin will resolve a dammed thing ..aussie aussie aussie .. dumb ass country run by a pack of tax dodging Cayman Island mongrel banker/lawyer thieves .. OI OI OI!!!!

Punctuation can be quite a useful tool as well.
