Bots. Bots checking your listing for illegal content / content that is against policy. Bots checking the code works. Bots counting statistics. Bots for whatever they please. As above, bots also activate with all new listings to send out alerts / emails etc to members who are watching your items.
Bot checks happen on most big websites like Ebay, even many other chat forums - anywhere where external users can add content of any sort.
Its not a conspiracy ๐
In Ebay I get 2-4 views immediately upon listing, with every single listing. Are you getting many more than this?
